Dear Freshy Letter

Dear Freshy,

Hey there freshman, only three more years of school left huh? I bet you're really excited about that. I'm writing this letter to you to try to give you some advice about being in the ninth grade. You're going to have to work hard, have a positive attitude and just have fun.

In the ninth grade, unfortunately, you're going to have to work hard. You have to work hard because you definitely want to end the year with good grades right? You also want to have good friendships with your teachers, ask them for help, and tell them that you don't understand something. Don't worry, none of them bite.

Another thing about the ninth grade is that you have to think positive. Of course this applies to all the grade levels, but in the ninth grade it counts a lot more.

Love,
Kali

Sing It Out- Allusions to Romeo and Juliet

Check Yes Juliet

Have you ever heard a song that reminded you of a story? Perhaps a fairytale your parents used to tell you at night or just a good book you picked up from the library? The song, “Check Yes Juliet” by We the Kings, reminds me of the play Romeo and Juliet. It reminds me of this play because some of the story’s main ideas are in the lyrics and they are very accurate to the play.

Firstly, the song “Check Yes Juliet” has some of the main points of the play within the lyrics. An example of this would be the chorus in verse two when the band sings, “lace off your shoes…you and me.” What these lyrics of the song means is that Juliet should run away with the “Romeo” and that they’ll be together forever. Another set of lyrics would be “check yes Juliet…yours for the taking.” What this set of lyrics means is that the “Romeo” in this song wants Juliet to want him and that he would do anything for her.

Secondly, the lyrics of this song are very accurate to the play. The first lyric is very accurate because throughout the play Romeo expressed is love to Juliet, one of these expressions could be found in Act two (pg 29). Another way this lyric is accurate is that in Act five the Friar tries every way he can to get Romeo and Juliet to run away together so that they could love each other freely. The second set of lyrics are very accurate because all throughout the play Romeo sates that he would anything for Juliet, even die he couldn’t be with her. He says this in Act three scene three (pg 61) when he finds out that he his banished from Verona for killing Tybalt.

There, the song “Check Yes Juliet” by We the Kings reminds me of the play Romeo and Juliet. The story’s main ideas are in the lyrics and they are very accurate to the play.

Against the Rules

Article posted April 30, 2012 at 12:19 PM GMT0 • comment (1) • Reads 2362

Free Writing- April

Have you ever done something that was against the rules? Perhaps try to protect something or maybe believe that a certain something could protect your sanity? That is exactly what Colonel Jay Kopelman, in From Baghdad with Love, did. He kept a puppy, even though it was against the rules, because he wanted to protect it and believed that this puppy could protect his sanity.

Colonel Jay Kopelman kept this puppy, against Marine regulation, because he wanted to protect it. He wanted to protect Lava because he always portrayed an innocence that the Colonel couldn’t resist. It also hurt the Colonel when he saw a pack of stray dogs eating a dead body of battle, and imagined that Lava could become one of them. That one day, Lava would lose his innocent boot lace biting habits and trade them in to become a ruthless creature that was struggling to survive in the war zones, if Kopelman left him behind. So, he took Lava in and took care of him, hoping that he would be preserving the cute puppy’s innocence and protecting him from the cruel war outside.

Another reason why Kopelman kept Lava was because he believed the puppy could protect his sanity. He believed this because Lava kept his mind off all the death and destruction of the war. Such as he states in Chapter 1 pg 7 “I liked not caring about getting home or staying alive or feeling warped as a human being-just him wiggling around in my hands, wiping all the grime off my face.” Which means Kopelman was happy that he had something to take care of, something to distract him from all the bad things that may happen. Such as the Colonel dieing or going insane from the violence and despair of the war.

Therefore, that is Colonel Jay Kopelman kept this puppy, even though it was against Marine regulation. He kept this puppy because he wanted to protect it’s innocence and believed that the puppy would protect his sanity.

Spirited Away

Construction Theory

Many feminists believe that young girls should have positive role models to follow. In the movie Spirited Away, Hitaro is just that positive role model. She is the main female character of this movie and feminists would celebrate it because she has a powerful mind and is very brave.

In the movie Spirited Away Hitaro has a powerful mind. She has a powerful mind by that in the movie her parents get turned into pigs because they wouldn’t stop eating the food that belonged to the spirits. So, she decides to work for Ubaba, the witch that cast the spell on her parents. However, Ubaba tries to trick Hitaro into thinking her name is Sen. So that way she wouldn’t remember the reason why she was there, to safe her parents, and work for Ubaba forever. However, Hitaro doesn’t fall under Ubaba’s spell because she keeps remembering her parents and that she must save them. This proves that Hitaro has a powerful mind because she never gave up and remembered the true reason of why she was in the spirit world in the first place.

Hitaro is also very brave in the movie. She was very brave because there are many spirits and creatures that don’t like humans. One incident in particular is when Hitaro meets a creature that had begun to eat everyone in the bath house where she worked. So, she gives this creature something to eat but in fact it’s a medicine that made the creature regurgitate the people that it had eaten. This proves that Hitaro is brave because while everyone ran away from the creature, she stood her ground and faced it.

Therefore, that is why feminists would celebrate Spirited Away. They would celebrate it because it has a positive female role model for young girls who has a powerful mind and is very brave.

Will and Mr. Halloway’s Relationship Change

Have you ever had a bad relationship with one of your parents? Then, all of a sudden, have something big happen that changed that relationship? That is what happened to Will and Mr. Halloway in the novel Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury. Their relationship changes when they talk more, do more things together and protect each other.

Will and Mr. Halloway’s relationship changes for the better when they begin to talk more to each other. However, at the beginning of the story, they hardly talked at all. A prime example of this is when Mr. Halloway takes the carnival flyer that he had found and throws it into the fireplace. Thus, making Will feel a bit suspicious of his father and hurt. He feels this way because Mr. Halloway did not talk to him at all about his feelings of the carnival or why he may be keeping secrets from him. He says, “Because Will answered himself. Something’s going on. Oh, something is going on!” (Bradbury 8). Although this incident happened, their relationship significantly improves when they talk on the porch together. This makes them become closer because Mr. Halloway explains to his son the he maybe a sad man, but his sadness did not come from Will. That Will is the light of his life and that he was even a bit envious of Will, he says, “That’s you, Will, for my money. And the strange thing is, son, and sad…than I ever will be” (Bradbury 136). Another way their relationship changes for the better is when they talk in the library together. This is good because Will is absolutely mesmerized by the way his father speaks. Will also begins to understand his father and that he actually knew a lot more about life than Will ever thought. He says, “Dad,” said Will, amazed. “I never knew you could talk” (Bradbury 196).

Another way Will and Mr. Halloway’s relationship changed is that they began to do more things together. Of course, during the beginning of the novel the boys did not do much together. An example of this is that at night Mr. Halloway would go out to the library while Will was asleep. A quote in the novel states, “And flying toward sleep…away…away” (Bradbury 39). One of the events that helped them come together though, was when they climb the iron rungs on the side of their house together. This brings them together because Mr. Halloway feels younger when he is climbing the ladder with his son. Will also feels happier because his father is with him, the novel states, “same size, same weight, colored same by the stars…and wet with love” (Bradbury 139). Another very important event that happened that brought the boys together was when they brought Jim back to life. This event brings them together because it helps Will understand that his father was right about how joy and happiness could overcome darkness and evil. It also gives Mr. Halloway the chance to show his son that he must let go of the bad things in life and the past in order to be truly happy and free. He says, “Will: louder, funnier…your bones! Breathe! Blow!” (Bradbury 282).

The last way that brought this father and son closer together is that throughout the novel they protected each other. Even though at the beginning of the story they protected each other the wrong way. What this means is that Will and Mr. Halloway keep their thoughts about the carnival to themselves. This is bad because it drives Will to believe that his father may actually want to go to the carnival and it makes Mr. Halloway worry about Will’s safety. They both say, “Don’t go near the carnival.” “Strange,” his father said, “that’s what I was going to tell you” (Bradbury 137). However, an action that improved this problem is when Mr. Dark came looking for the boys in the library. This helps their relationship because Mr. Halloway tries to protect Jim and Will from Mr. Dark’s wrath. Even though Mr. Dark offered him a ride on the carousel, to get younger, if he turned them in. This showed Will how much his father truly loved him, thus, leading their relationship to grow and become closer. The novel states, “Charles Halloway sprang forward…and could not follow” (Bradbury 213). Another way they protected each other was when Will heard his dad talking to Mr. Dark above the street grille where he was hiding. This helps their relationship because even though Mr. Dark had pictures of the boys on his palm and knew their names, Mr. Halloway never gave away where they were hiding or who they were. It also helps their relationship because it helped Will to understand that his father believes him about the carnival being evil. This also leads to Will growing deeper feelings for his father and that now he knew Mr. Halloway would do anything to protect him. Will says, “And Will, below…Dad’s very tall indeed” (Bradbury 179).

Although, many people would say that Will and Mr. Halloway’s relationship did not change. They believe this because Mr. Halloway still believed that he was still too old to be around Will. That at the end of the novel, he was still having doubts about who he was and if he could really change and be happy. He states, “He felt the vague pain in his chest. If I run, he thought, what will happen? Is Death important?” (Bradbury 288). However, though this is a good point, Mr. Halloway actually did decide to run with the boys and that throughout the novel he becomes more open and happy. He says, “Everything that happens before Death is what counts. And we’ve done fine tonight. Even Death can’t spoil it” (Bradbury 288).

I am credible for this essay because I have read the book at least twice.

Chapter 1

Screaming, crying, fire, amber colored eyes wide with fear shot forward then back again, back into the darkness where even worst horrors lurked. A sudden flash made me jump, another scream, but this scream was different. It was higher pitched and it was silenced quickly, “too quickly,” I thought to myself.

“You really thought you could save her, didn’t you? How amusing.”

It was him, the worst of my horrors, his voice was a low guttural noise and it alone made my blood freeze and my spine ache. I whirled around, nothing, nothing but darkness. Wait….was, was it moving? Yes, a figure tall and broad shouldered was stalking towards me with a bloody sword in his right hand and something I couldn’t make out in his left. I felt my throat tighten with terror as I watched the pulsing creature come towards me. His eyes were an acid green color, his mouth only a thin line on his dark face. Then, it smiled; the thin line became a gash with jagged teeth and dark red gums. As I stared at him he slowly raised his left hand to show me what he was hiding, the blood curdling smile still on his lips. I tried to let out a shriek of sheer and absolute anguish at the sight but felt my throat tighten violently. “But why?” I thought, it was then that I realized fear was only part of the reason. The other major part was that somehow the creature’s hands were around my throat! I struggled, he laughed, struggle, laugh, struggle. His face drawing closer, sword beginning to raise, his laugh becoming louder and louder and louder and……….

I leapt into the air then fell on something hard that felt cool underneath my stomach. I lurched my eyes open, blinked a few times and realized I was safely in my room and……well…..on the floor. I sat up slowly and observed the area, there were no people screaming except for the rock ‘n’ roll posters on my wall, no crazy guy trying to attack me and my attacker’s booming laugh was only the rumbling of the subway that passed near by. I shook my head and stood up, “just another bad dream,” I said to myself. But it was always the same one, the only difference is that sometimes tall, dark, and psychotic doesn’t show up. The mere thought of him makes my body go numb, “why am I so afraid of this guy?” I thought. I ponder on that question while I fixed up my futon and planned the events of the day to myself. After I was done I decided to take a quick, but very hot, shower to get my mind off the horrible dream and come back to reality.

I was towel drying my hair when I stopped because I caught a glimpse of my reflection in the mirror. My body was muscular, but not pumped up like my friend Phenton’s, and my face was chiseled and the complete package that showed I was some German/American hybrid. Although, now that I think about it, my appearance definitely wouldn’t have put my name on the top of Mr. Adolf Hitler’s list for being the superior race of the world. My dark hair resembled a raven’s wings, while my eyes gave off a light sapphire shine that my mother called “crystal eyes.” In other words, my parent’s genes ran smoothly together when they decided that it was time for me to enter the world and be apart of it just like they were. But what really set my appearance straight was the ever so noticeable X on my left cheek, that made people know who I was and what I am apart of, more on that later. I withdrew from the mirror and threw on a pair of black jeans and a MSI sweatshirt and rushed downstairs where my family waited. What I didn’t know was that something else was waiting for me, a piece of paper, just a normal piece of

notebook paper that would turn my life upside down and change it forever.

Epilogue

It was another cool autumn day in Germany. The summer shops were closing their doors early. It was as if they were trying to shun the oncoming frozen air by the locking and jingling of their master’s keys. At the same time the colder month shops excitedly opened their doors. They were welcoming the season with open arms and enticing the cool breeze as if it were an old friend or a new customer from another country. For the people however, it was another typical day in town. Cars bustled down the road and, occasionally, honked at the early morning jay walkers. While the people, safely on the streets, chatted loudly over cups of coffee or on their bluetooths and cell phones.

However, this wasn’t any “typical” day for me. In fact, I don’t think I’ll be having anymore “typical” days from now on. As I write this, I begin to wonder what actually caused these vile turns of events to happen. Was it the unexpected betrayal that had been planned behind my back since the day I made the Promise? Perhaps…..maybe…….possibly it was the “thing,” the poisonous mark etched on my face since the day I was born. My birthmark, my curse, the X.

My name is Jaeger and I was once part of a special organization called the Elite III. Though, I should warn you, I am not going to speak of how “wonderful” the organization is. Oh no, I’m going to tell you how I finally broke free of the organization’s puppet strings and followed my heart…..my soul, to find the true evils that lurked in the organization. This all started on a “typical” day in town, where I finally got to see the girl of my dreams once more. Where I found where I truly belonged in life. Where the true meaning of the X that still plagues my left cheek, was learned.

I am Jaeger AliXine, and I refuse to stay quiet any longer. This is my story.

3rd Time’s Charm

Third Person Omniscient

Jaeger was walking down the familiar alleyway when he began to think about Nina.

“I wonder if she’ll recognize me?” He hadn’t seen his childhood friend since she moved from Germany three years ago.

“I can’t wait to see her! I wonder what she might be wearing?” This last thought caught him off guard when he suddenly heard an excited scream ahead of him that made him stop dead. Nina ran over to him and gave him the biggest hug she could muster. Jaeger felt uncomfortable but liked the hug at the same time. “Does that even make sense?” he thought to himself as he hugged his best friend back.

“Wow,” Nina instantly thought as she hugged Jaeger. “He really did start working out.” Nina pushed this thought out of her mind and looked up into his face.

“Hey, Nina” he said excitedly. “You ready to go to our café?” He looked down to meet her eyes and he began to open his mouth to say how he really felt about Nina for all these years. He closed it instantly and steeled himself against the thought, he had made a promise, and he intended to keep it.

“Absolutely!” Nina said, she had seen Jaeger’s mouth open but then close quickly. She had also seen his handsome face go from a familiar happiness to an ice cold seriousness. She looped her arms into his and they began walking. “He remembers,” she thought sadly. “He remembers it all.”

Socratic Seminar Persuasive Essay

There are many times in life where you may make the wrong decision. Perhaps stalk a girl you really like. However, she may show obvious signs that she’s not that interested in you. In “The Bass, the River, and Sheila Mant” the narrator had been very naive, stalker-like, and indecisive.

The narrator in the story was very naive. He is naive because he believed that a girl three years older than him would like him. This would be bad because they would have different hobbies. On (pg 4 Wetherell) it states that Sheila had parties, played softball and constantly came and went from the cottage her family rented on the river. While on (pg 5 Wetherell) the narrator swam, fished and polished his canoe in his spare time.

Futhermore, the narrator was also very indecisive. He is this way because on (pg 10 Wetherell) he cut the line that was connected to his dream fish to keep his “dream” girl that wasn’t really that interested in him. She proves this by saying on (pg 8 Wetherell) “Eric said I have the figure of a model, but I thought I should get an education first. I mean, it might be a while before I get started and all.” All she did the entire boat ride was talk about herself and didn’t even notice the narrator was there. He was basically just someone sitting there that she could blab to.

However, some people may disagree and say that the narrator was just a boy who made a mistake. And on (pg 10 Wetherell) he states that “there would be other Sheila Mants in my life, other fish, and though I came close once or twice, it was these secret, hidden tuggings in the night that claimed me, and I never made the same mistake again.” Which states that he had learned his lesson and would never make the same mistake twice.

Although, he should’ve taken the hint that she wasn’t into him. Sheila also hinted in the statement on (pg 10 Wetherell) that had interests in another guy than the narrator.

The narrator in the story was also really stalker-like. I believe he’s stalker-like because on (pg 4 Wetherell) he says that after his parents had gone to bed, he would sneak out of the house and go to Sheila’s hedges and hide there to watch her parties through the window. He watched everything Sheila did on the lake. He even memorized what “mood” she’s in, just by looking at her body language. On (pg 4 Wetherell) the narrator states “she would spend her days sunbathing on a float my Uncle Sierbert had moored in their cove, and before July was over I had learned all her moods.” After that sentence, he starts going into detail on how her body may look if she were pensive, observant or just looking at suitors in a queenly yet severe manner.

Therefore, that is why I believe that the narrator in “The Bass, the River, and Sheila Mant” was very naïve, indecisive and very stalker-like.

I have credibility for this essay because I read the story. I also have many details that can be proven correct in the story.

Fashion and Music

Hey everybody! It seems we have some pretty disastrous changes going on in the world of fashion and music these days. We’re going to start with fashion. While all the classy and elegant lasses know that the proper fashion fling is: long ankle length dresses, flesh tone stockings and, of course, a stylish pair of high heeled shoes. And if you want to put out some accessories to your outfit a comfortable stylish bonnet will do to compliment those long locks. However, times are changing and the flappers are starting to take over. Flappers are the young girls that enjoy the new ways of fashion that’s flooding into town. What are these new waves you ask? Well, take a look out your window and take a peek. I bet you would see what I kept seeing while I was driving to work today. Girls with skirts and dresses all the way above the knee, stockings either rolled under the knee or not worn at all, large hats and haircuts so short and curled so tight that you could practically see the girl’s ears! Did you manage to get a glimpse of the faces? Of course! Who would miss that dark caked on makeup that everyone immediately notices? What these flappers do that may also get the blood boiling is that they are starting to drink, smoke and go to local parties wearing so little that it’s practically see through. Or they could wear something so elaborate that it definitely gets the heads turning. Why is everything changing? Why isn’t everything staying the same? That may some questions you may be asking yourself and the simple answer would be that the youth is taking charge and pretty soon, everything will change.

Now on to the music. Let’s just say that the music quality has also taken a, bitter turn. Harmonic and relaxing rhythm from classical music is replaced by the fast high beat of the new fad in music called jazz. While everyone takes the comfort of the waltz and classical music, jazz begins to slither its way into our society by using the younger generation and of course the flappers, according to older citizens. However, according to the younger generation, jazz is the new style and it’s far more fun to listen to than boring old grandparents’ music. With its high trumpet noise, swing like beat, and so called smooth rhythm it hypnotizes the younger generation causing even more improper behavior! What with them coming up with new dances, such as the Charleston and the Fox Trot, to keep up with the “evil” beat of jazz, the younger generation throws everything that was taught to them about being proper to one another, out to the trash. In other words, out with the romantic and heartwarming waltz and in with the overbearingly fast foot work of the Charleston. Out with the harmonic violins, and rhythmic cellos of classical music and in with the obnoxiously loud trumpets and inappropriate lyrics of today’s jazz. Where will these turn of events leap to next? Stay tuned for further updates.

Anime, got to love it right? Do you get confused between what's a cartoon and what's anime? In this freewrite you might want to sit back and relax becuase it's going to be pretty informative.

Most people just call anime "cartoons" because they may not know how to pronounce the real name, that's ok, it's no big deal. However, anime and cartoons are a bit different. I mean sure cartoons and anime both have fictional characters, imaginary settings, and are really entertaining to watch. Anime though can be, at most times, quite violent and have more adult–like scenarios. A couple examples that fit this description and some of you may have heard about are: Death Note, Chobits, and Karin: Chibi Vampire.

Some people don’t really like anime because of its story lines and “bad” influential characters or they’re not just into it and like soaps and reality TV. My personal thought though is anime is awesome! I really like them because sometimes the themes of the show pertain to actual life or maybe how the future might turn out. I also think that anime is the best way to watch an action packed themed show.

I think this way because in real movies blood, for me anyway, doesn’t look quite real. It’s always too bright or just really over exaggerated, I mean anime does that to but it’s more believable because it’s already unbelievable. You know? It’s ok if you don’t that sentence caught me off guard to. Another reason why I like anime is because the characters always seem to have the coolest clothes, personalities and, of course, awesome colored eyes. I mean come on, who doesn’t want ice blue eyes right, or maybe even lavender colored hair?

Anime, you say the word and I am so there! Action packed, great story, awesome characters it’s the only thing on TV that could possibly be better than the book they came from.

Probably, I hope you were all informed and entertianed by the essay. Maybe I even stirred your curiosity and you'll go check anime out, you should, it'll be great!

Is There Anyone Listening?

Pay Attention to Me!

 1. Love, romance and sincerity. That's what most people expect to have when they get married. Some do but others don't. However, romantic love is an the appropriate basis for marriage because without it people would  hate each other, people wouldn’t get married, and the world wouldn’t be happy.

2. Where would we be without books? Would we have our faces pressed against the tv? Perhaps have our imaginations slip right through our ears and out the window. Books are definitely better than movies because there are no limitations to how long the book has to be, a book allows you to use your imagination, and you can always read a book in peace.

Cherry Blossom Trees

Free Writing- September

I love cherry blossom trees! The ones in Washington are ok but if you want to see the real deal, you'll want to go to Japan. They just seem more beautiful there for some reason, maybe it's because of the pretty, lush scenery around them and the blue sky that always seems to be there. It just seems more peaceful than having a big white building and security guards surrounding the place.

I mean, I would rather sit under a cherry blossom tree and feel the breeze and see the mountains ahead of me, but everyone has their own opinion about what they prefer. Blooming season is the absolute best! A friend of mine sent me video a few years ago that showed me how the cherry blossoms on the trees bloomed. I'll be honest with you, I got soo jealous of the people who filmed it. It was set up by a monastary, in Japan, and all the monks were sitting around the blooming flowers with their umbrellas. It was just so beautiful and peaceful looking, no wonder why the Japanese live so long, they get to relax every so often! I think it's also the tree itself that gives it the appearance of calm and serenity. The shape, colors, and position of where the tree is just always so perfect.

That is why  I love cherry blossom trees and why I think they are better in Japan than in Washington.

A Visual Representation of Me

Hey everyone! My name is Kali and I like pandas.

This year in English class I had to decorate my binder, here's a few things that's on it right now.

My qoute that I put on my binder is "The only way to get wise is to get experienced." Which is from the author Darren Shan's Cirque Du Freak series. It just means that if you don't try how will know that you're not already really good at it.

Next, I chose a heart for my personality becuase I'm loving and caring towards people who are my friends and loved ones. I'm also respectful to people who respect me.

Then, I chose something that I liked wich was shoes because come on, what girl doesn't like good shoes, right?

After that I chose another quote that reminded me of a positive reading experience in my life. It says "My father and mother tried to live differently, adventurously. They introduced me to the world." What is means to me is that my mom and dad introduced me to the different worlds books and take me, and I've loved books ever since!

Lastly, I just put something random on it which was chocolate with peanut butter. Well, duh! Just like shoes, who doesn't like that?

That's my visual representation of me. Hope you all enjoyed reading this and comment lots. Thanks!!!

Free Writing Assignment: My Views on Life

Article posted November 18, 2009 at 03:34 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 514

My views on life, I guess is pretty confusing. I say this because sometimes life is bad to people but can be good at the same time. Like, it’s hard to explain; when someone is taken away from you it’s bad but good at the same time. It’s a bad because you know that person is gone and will never come back, yet it’s a good because you know they’re in a better place now. I guess it depends on the person, is it more of a bad time? or more of a good time? I’ve decided it’s more or less of both.

There’s another question that people ask at this time. It may not be right at that moment but you’ll ask it in time. This question is just one word: why? or maybe even two words: why now? You know deep down you know the answer but you don’t want to admit it. Although there are a few people out in the world that admit how they truly feel. Either it be to a psychiatrist, a close friend or even a family member they share their feelings so maybe they could feel a little better. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t but it’s always better, in my opinion, to have your feelings out in the open rather than bottled up inside.

The one thing I dislike about when a person dies is that the person still alive blames themselves for the death. I mean, what could you have possibly done that was so bad? I understand maybe you had a few fights, said bad things to the other person or maybe you didn’t say “I love you” has much as you could. Even if you did do some of these things you still made up with each other, right? You always said you were sorry and the other person would do the same thing. Then afterward you two would take a walk at the park or the beach, or maybe even talk to each other and explain why you fought the way you did.

I’ve felt this way myself once, no, I guess I would say many times. Always wondering if there is one specific reason, one answer, but there are many answers to this one question. Sometimes people cope with the answer they have, others keep searching. Me, well, I guess I’m a bit of both.

 Third Person Omniscient

Sylvia was walking down the street feeling happy and content with the night air, when

she came upon a strange boy. Alexander leaned against the street lamp, feeling tense and

frustrated about the argument he had with his parents. Then, he suddenly heard footsteps.

He turned, half hoping it was is father who had come to apologize and take him home,

when he saw it was a girl from school his shoulders slumped. Upon seeing the familiar

face of the boy Sylvia said “hi” in a happy tone and a smile on her face. “You’re the new

guy at school, right?” Alexander opened his mouth to answer her question but closed it,

afraid he may yell at her and hurt her feelings. Instead he turned and walked away,

leaving a very stunned and confused Sylvia behind.
