Friends Forever?

3rd Time’s Charm

Third Person Omniscient

Jaeger was walking down the familiar alleyway when he began to think about Nina.

“I wonder if she’ll recognize me?” He hadn’t seen his childhood friend since she moved from Germany three years ago.

“I can’t wait to see her! I wonder what she might be wearing?” This last thought caught him off guard when he suddenly heard an excited scream ahead of him that made him stop dead. Nina ran over to him and gave him the biggest hug she could muster. Jaeger felt uncomfortable but liked the hug at the same time. “Does that even make sense?” he thought to himself as he hugged his best friend back.

“Wow,” Nina instantly thought as she hugged Jaeger. “He really did start working out.” Nina pushed this thought out of her mind and looked up into his face.

“Hey, Nina” he said excitedly. “You ready to go to our café?” He looked down to meet her eyes and he began to open his mouth to say how he really felt about Nina for all these years. He closed it instantly and steeled himself against the thought, he had made a promise, and he intended to keep it.

“Absolutely!” Nina said, she had seen Jaeger’s mouth open but then close quickly. She had also seen his handsome face go from a familiar happiness to an ice cold seriousness. She looped her arms into his and they began walking. “He remembers,” she thought sadly. “He remembers it all.”

Third Person Dramatic

A boy in Germany was walking down an alleyway when suddenly there is an excited scream ahead of him that stops him dead. A girl runs up to him and hugs him tightly; the boy seems uncomfortable but hugs her back.

“Hey Nina,” the boy says excitedly. “You ready to go to our café?” He looks down at the girl to meet her eyes and opens his mouth, as if he was about to say something. However, he closes it quickly and his face appears sharp and serious.

“Absolutely!” the girl called Nina says back, she loops her arms into his and they begin walking. Although, they seem to have serious and distraught looks on their faces now.
