My Rollercoaster Project

Article posted April 30, 2013 at 03:27 PM GMT0 • comment (1) • Reads 39

We were learning about the forces and how they worked. The three laws of motion are 1.An object at rest will remain at rest unless acted on by an unbalanced force. 2. Acceleration is produced when a force acts on a mass. The greater the mass (of the object being accelerated) the greater the amount of force needed (to accelerate the object). And the third 3.For every action there is an equal and opposite re-action.

In our group there where four people . Each person had a job. My job was the design engineer. This job was to find out how a rollercoaster is made.there was a lawyer who checked the laws of the rollercoaster parks and how many accidents happen because of rollercoasters. The physicist
studies physics and other chemical objects with mass. Then at last there was the historian who looked up the history about the roller coaster form the first one to the present day roller coaster.

This is the roller coaster that I created on brain pop to understand how rollercoasters worked up above shows my roller coaster that works. My rollercoaster works because when you go up the first hill it gives the roller coaster the momentim it needs to finish and it can stop because of the loop at the end of the ride it slows down enough to stop.

This is my roller coaster that failed. The roller coaster failed because after comming down the hill it did not have enough momentum to get through the big loop. In that case it could not finish the ride.

Our school is a catholic school and parish  holds K-8 as grades there are over 300 students enrolled. Our school was opened in the september of 1946 and it has grown since.

There are three reasons why I am glad to attened this school. The first reason is because we have very godd educators employed here to teach us. The second is we have a very good pastor and priest to teach us about god . We also have a very good math program ran throught the school.

At this school I feel at home and I fell like this is my second family. They help me with learning and having fun at the same time.

Hurricane Sandy was the largest Atlantic hurricane on record. This was only a tropical storm when it hit the landfall. The estimate damage cost was about $20 billion. And there was at least 193 people killed during the storm. Also hurricane Sandy affected 24 states and destroying almost150, 000 homes.

My family and friends were affected by losing power for almost 6 days. Some people in New Jersey and other were more severely affected.

My Mark on the world

Article posted October 9, 2012 at 03:48 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 375

My mark on the world is about a boy named Vasdhi who thought that he could not draw. When his art teacher told him to draw a dot and sign it he was so suprised to find it hanging above her desk the next week. After that he was determined to make more dots, bigger, samller, more colorful ,less colorful, and more. In a few weeks the art show comes and alot of people look at all of his drawings.Among all the adults a little boy is there and goes up to him and said "I wish i could draw like that". Then Vasdhi said"I bet you can". Than the boy said"I can"t even draw a straght line. Vadhi said show me. so the boy drew the line and vashdi said "sigh it".

The Bad Qualities of Smoking

Article posted March 12, 2012 at 06:35 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 958

What I learned in health class by doing a smoking poster was to encourage people to stop smoking and tell others not to start. When people start to smoke is because other people tell them to try , they think its cool, and stuff like that. Well it's not cool because you are wasting money by hurting you, and your lungs. Once you start it's hard to stop because of  a chemical nicotine. On my smoking poster I am trying to tell people that smoking is bad for you ,and to quit. When you smoke there are harmful side effects like: loss of hearing, getting tar buildup, breathing problems, and becoming blind. These are just some ways smoking can hurt you. STOP SMOKING NOW !!

Energy Conservation

Article posted January 9, 2012 at 06:32 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 1063

At my school we did a PPL kit and I would like to share some information with you. The PPL Energy kit trys to get you to not to use alot of fossil fuels as you use on a regular basis. Here are some things I used in the kit. I got two faucets,a timer,a measuring bag, a thermometer, and a limelight. These will help save energy  around my house and save the earth. When you turn on a light you are using energy (fossil fuel). A fossil fuel is a substance you get just by burning a fossil  that came from a animal that died and the bones were left.  If we use our energy wisely we will have more fossil fuels to use for the furture generations.  Since we use so much energy in one day, we should cut down on energy because we are running out of fossil fuels and they take a very long time to develop in a coal form . That is why people are trying not to keep water running or keeping lights on when they are not using these things. If you help out just a little you can help change the world. We can conserve energy by updating our light bulbs and our faucet fixtures. Also using the lime lights only costs a few cents a year.

The things I learned was saving enregy is like saving your air.By using these tools in the kit your saving fossil fuels and energy . I really enjoyed this kit.

My Great Summer

Article posted September 28, 2011 at 12:48 AM GMT0 • comment • Reads 236

I had one of the best summers a girl could have with my family. First  my family took me to Washington D.C. as a early suprise birthday  . Then my parents  got tickets to the Captial and the White House for a tour inside !!  I felt so excited to be able to tour the White House and The Capital  to see history in front of me and it was awesome. Also, we saw the new and old air and space musuem and saw athe Space Shuttle and a Black Hawk jet up close .  I was able to viisit the American Indian Museum which was really cool to see all about the Indians and their culture.  I have lots of pictures of the museums that I visited. Then we took a night tour of Washington D.C. We saw the Lincoln Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, The Captial, and the Washington Momument, FDR Museum  and the Korean Memorial. The day after we took the night tour we visited  the Arlington National Cemetery and took the tour and  we saw theJFK flame and his burial place.  Later in the summer, my parents  took my to Lancaster (if you don't know  the Amish Country) for the summer vacation. I loved my summer I hoped it would never end but sadly it did.
