Roberto Clemente blog conflict #5

Roberto Clemente tells about how he was great at baseball and died in a plain crash. I have much advice for Roberto Clemente seeing the problems he went through. Most importantly if I were him I wouldn't have gotten on that plain if there was a chance of them running into a storm. Second of all if I was him and in major league baseball instead of going back to Puerto Rhico and having kids through bottle caps to him so he could hit I would of bought a couple of balls and just went and got them after I hit them. Also if I was him I would of tried to tell people like the writers that it doesn't matter what race he is. What matters is how much he helps his team the Pirates. Therefore because I read about Roberto's problems I would tell him all that advice if I could.

Roberto Clemente blog conflict #4

Article posted June 4, 2010 at 05:14 PM GMT • comment • Reads 310

Roberto Clemente tells about his life and death. Roberto had conflicts with other people not likeing him, and he dies at the end. Also at the beginning he doesn't have any money to buy a real bat, ball, or glove so he does his best and makes a glove and uses cans for balls, and his bat is just a tree limb, therefore showing that he is smart and creative. Also he has pains in his neck from all the stress of people not liking him because his Puerto Rhican background. To deal with this he just let it blow raight over his head and try harder so they would have to say he's good, that shows that Roberto was strong willed and mentally strong to deal with that. Therefore Roberto had two conflicts that he dealt with in good ways so he was who he was.

Have you ever wanted to go anywhere or better yet had to go some where because where you are isn’t safe or there is no food or shelter? In Maggie’s Door by Patricia Reilly Giff a lot of realistic stuff happens throughout the book, because there is no food where Nory is already at. The main character Nory is trying to get to Brooklyn New York where her sister and her brother in law are supposed to be living. On the way Nory and her best friend Sean Red her sister's husband's brother both take horrible loses. Sean’s mother decides that she is too old to even try to make the voyage to America. Nory faces a death of her grandpa on the ship going to America, and again he is an older guy. When they get to America the book has a very happy ending. I can compare the conflict in this book to the conflict in Parvana’s journey because both of them are trying to get to America. In Parvana’s book her and her love ends up staying in Vietnam because of choice which has a very happy ending. In Nory’s book she makes it to America, but has to pay the price to get there. Also both of them go through most of the book with the ones they love and settle down with at the end of the book which I think makes the book a lot better.

Blog Conflict #2 on Maggie's Door

In Maggies Door by Patricia Reilly Giff there are some interesting things at the beginning of the book up to chapter 7. First Maggie leaves her home because the English have taken over Ireland and she is Irish. The English charge high rent prices on the things the Irish owned shortly before. Then there was a big potato famine and the Irish have no food and nothing to give to the English for rent. Therefore Nory leaves for America and on the way falls down a hill and cuts her foot on something. This isn't the main problem but it is a a character vs. nature conflict becuase nature was what cut her foot. I had a conflict like this once when I wore a pair of pants to school that had a hole in the crotch and had to hide the hole all day so nobody would see that there was a hole there which made the whole day stink.

Conflict Blog on the whole book Savage Sam

Article posted April 23, 2010 at 02:07 AM GMT • comment • Reads 264

In the book Savage Sam alot happens. First they get captured by indians and go on a big adventure until the settlers catch up with the indians and kill most of the unfair, nasty rapers. While they are traveling with the indians this one rapes Lisbeth is why I think they are so in the wrong. Also why would any decent people take kids in the first place. Anyway the main character Travis changes alot thoughout the book. I think that he had to mature alot and realize you never know when danger is near. Also I bet getting raped really changed Lisbeth. Now she probably thinks of that every time she thinks of indians. I'm glad that Travis was able to cut the indian that raped Lisbeth becuase anyone who would to that to a little girl deserves it.

In Savage Sam a lot goes on up to chapter 11. First they get captured by Indians. I think that little Arliss should get fed better because him and Lisbeth aren’t getting very much food and there just little kids that are stuck with a group of wild Indians. I’m glad Travis got away though because without him I think the other people in the gang would have lost a lot of hope they regained when finding him. I predict that they will run into the Indians and win the gun fight with the loss of some of there men. I think that because most books have a happy ending and that would be one.

Down The Yukon the entire book prediction

Article posted March 15, 2010 at 03:08 PM GMT • comment • Reads 208

In Down the Yukon a lot happens throughout the entire book. First Ethan loses the sawmill. Then Jason heads down stream in a race with this girl he likes a lot. They start off with a good lead until this guy named Donner comes along and smashes the canoe. They build a raft out of what they can find. After that, they come to this Indian village and the girl Jason is with, Jamie, can understand some Indian. When she tells them what happened through one girl they have at the Indian camp, they give them lots of food and a birch bark canoe. Also they tell them about a secret passage way that is supposed to be a lot shorter. When they get closer a guy tells them more and they find there way to the path. When they get there, they here a roar and run into a grizzly. Donner, there main competitor isn’t that far away. After all the commotion their dog ends up finding the river they needed to find. On the river everything goes smoothly until they reach the ocean. When they get there a guy fixes them up with the right gear in a one-third partnership. Donner hires guides so they follow them until they get ahead. Once they get ahead Jason and Jamie have little hope but paddle as hard as they can and end up getting to shore at about the same time. Jason’s dog ends up winning them the prize by tripping Donner’s partner. I predict they will go back to Dawson and then eventually take a trip to where the family they helped were going, and will live happily in Dawson with some kids of their own.

Down the Yukon up to page 120

Article posted March 3, 2010 at 05:39 PM GMT • comment • Reads 174

In Down the Yukon by Will Hobbs, a sequel to Jason’s Gold, a lot happens in the first 120 pages. First, Jason’s brother, Ethan, sees this dog on the street and takes a liking to it. Then this drunken professional boxer comes along and kicks the dog out of his way. Therefore Ethan pushes this drunk who’s name is Donner. A fight gets started and Ethan wins. Donner wants a rematch and Ethan wins that too. After all of this Dawson has a fire to bring Ethan out of the la-la land he has been living in. Next Jamie, this girl Jason has a huge crush on, comes along and they hear about a race to Nome. Ethan sold the sawmill to Donner when he was in his gambling la-la stage. Since the prize money is $20,000 that would be enough for Jamie to have $10,000 and Jason to buy back the majority ownership of the mill. Once they get into the race a ways ,they see this family that has gotten stuck and needs somebody’s help to get them out. They couldn’t turn when they saw them because of the current but they are going to try going back through the woods. All of this has happened in the first 120 pages so I bet it will get a lot better as I read on.

Article posted March 2, 2010 at 03:13 PM GMT • comment • Reads 640

In Down the Yukon by Will Hobbs a lot has happened so far. Ethan saw a helpless dog on the street and then this drunken professional boxer, Donner, came up and kicked the dog to the side. This made Ethan mad and he pushed Donner so Donner hit him. Then Ethan hit him so hard to knock him down. This made Donner want a rematch, so Ethan agreed and had to train and it took time. Therefore Ethan couldn’t work much. All of this paid off when he got in the ring with Donner in the last round knocked him down again. This made Ethan feel unstoppable and he started going to fancy parties and gambling. He was winning a lot and had a lot of money and part ownership of a few things. His luck changed and he lost everything including the sawmill they owned majority ownership of. Then a fire started and straightened him out, but now his brothers, Jason and Abe, have to go to work building houses for $100 a month. Jason is the main character and all the while he is thinking of heading to Nome for the gold rush. He spends a lot of time thinking about Jamie from the first book Jason’s Gold. I hope he does something because him and his brothers are in a worse spot then they were in when he got there.

Article posted February 22, 2010 at 03:16 PM GMT • comment • Reads 211

I just started reading the book Down the Yukon by Will Hobbs and in the little bit I read so far Jason’s older brother got in a fight with a professional boxer when he was drunk and beet him. This made him mad so he asked for a rematch which Ethan excepted the offer and when he got in the fight he stuck through it all the way until the 9th round when he swung hard enough to take the professional down declaring him the winner. Now his head is as big as a boulder and he is gloating about it. They own 51% of a saw mill and Ethan has taken in this dog that got him in a fight with the professional from the beginning.

Flush the whole book

Article posted January 11, 2010 at 03:14 PM GMT • comment • Reads 203

In the book Flush throughout the book a lot happens. First Noah’s dad sinks the boat the Coral Queen, and goes to jail for it. Then when he agrees to pay for the damages they let him out on probation. Once he’s out he gets a job on a rescue boat haling the people that get in trouble back on shore. Noah and his friend Shelly know that his dad was right for sinking the boat because it pollutes a lot. Like it just sticks the hose that the potty flush comes out right in the water and let it out. So Noah and his sister come up with the idea that they will just buy a bunch of food coloring and flush it. Well they get $50 some dollar’s and buy this stuff called Fuchsia. Then Noah sneaks on board and flushes his share while during Shelly’s potty brakes she flushes her half. Then Noah gets chased of board and him and his sister Abbey leave but something happens to there boat so they are stuck on the boat. Noah’s grandpa is a weird guy. On the reckerds he is dead but he is really alive and in the Key’s protecting his family so he tells Noah’s dad about Noah and Abbey and they go out and rescue them. Finally they go to the Coral Queen and see where the entire food coloring got in the lake so the Coral Queen would be shut down but the owner’s sun was smoking one of his dad’s cigars and through it on fireworks the boat got totaled anyway.

In the book Flush by Carl Hiaasen up to chapter 16 a lot happens. To start off with Noah’s dad sinks the Coral Queen and then sits on the beach to watch it sink. Then the police arrest him and he and his wife Noah’s mom get into a fight over him doing this. Well you should also know that Noah’s dad did it because the owner Dusty is just dumping the toilet water into the ocean which is wrong and totally illegal. Noah’s dad ends up getting out of jail and on probation. Then his daughter Abbey sneaks on board and try’s to get footage of them dumping it but the camera doesn’t work very well so that didn’t work out very well. During all of this Noah is getting a hard time from Jasper Jr. and his friend Bull. But one time when Abbey and Noah are riding there bikes they grab them and start beating on them so Abbey bites Bull’s ear when this weird guy shows up to stop it. I wonder who he is because they say he is a Indian type guy. Then chapter 15 ends with Noah and his friend Shelly drain a bunch of food coloring into the toilets at the Coral Queen and Noah is being chased by security so he jumps overboard and that is where we left off.

Flush the whole book

Article posted December 15, 2009 at 03:12 PM GMT • comment • Reads 174

In the book Flush there is this guy who is a little crazy sometimes. He sunk a boat because they were polluting the stuff that is flushed down toliots in the ocean. I mean if you are a dad you normally don’t go and sink a boat. The main character is noah and we read all of the book so if you haven’t you probably shouldn’t read this. Naoh’s dad is the crazy one and he lost his license for taking people on fishing trips because one guy was using a illegal fishing net that kills everything it catches. I think Noah’s dad is in the best interest but he goes to the extreme to do all of the kind things he does. His dad even takes the ankle bracelet he has to have on while hes on probation off when his daughter goes to the boat he sunk the coral queen and tries to tape the evidence that they are just dumping the wastes from the boat in the water that people in the keys swim in.

In the book Flush up to page 49 there is this rich guy who owns a casino on a boat. He puts the toilet stuff in the ocean at night. Therefore the main character noah's father went out and sunk the boat. The big downside to this is they can’t prove it and they got the boat back up and running in less than a week. Noah is trying to get his father out of jail and prove that he is right so the casino boat will be shut down. He goes to this drunk’s house because he used to work on the bus but he wants some serious money to talk. Noah goes back to his dad and his dad tells him to offer his I forget the name of it but it is a little fishing boat. He says it’s worth 10-12 thousand dollars but it should work. That’s were I have stopped reading so far

In Skinny Bones there is this kid that is a loser and this kid T.J. The main character really dislikes T. J. because T.J. makes fun of him. When the main character has to play T.J in a game he makes a real fool out of himself. When there is a ball hit to him he isn’t paying attention and the ball still comes straight to him and he drops it. Then T.J hits a hard grounder to him and he misses that to. But worst of all when he is up to bat he bunts and while running to first base he makes a joke out of it and says booga, booga. So T.J misses the ball and he gets to second. While he is at second the empire comes up and says. “your out!” This really puts a downer on the book. Anyway this book is a comedy and if you like a good joke you should read it.

In Things Not Seen chapters 21-the end Bobby finds a way to become back visible. What he has to do is he takes his blanket and since it makes him invisible before he just does everything the same he always does and goes to sleep. Then Mrs.Pagett has her husband come with her and they go to Bobbies house and he hears them so he throws his boxers off and stands there against the wall. When they come in they see him naked and he realizes his simple experiment worked. I think it was almost too simple but at least it ended the book at a good time. Then he goes to Alicia’s and tries to kiss her. She pulls away though.

In the book Things Not Seen by Andrew Clements chapters 15-21 Bobby’s dad comes up with the idea that his electric blanket doesn’t work the way it should. Then they got this contraption out and looked at the electric field of the blanket. After doing all of this they couldn’t find what they needed to so Bobby decided to try to find if there was a recall on the blankets. When he told Alicia about his little idea she sorta got talked in to going with him so he has a body and she has some eyes. She got a little upset when he said nobody would hire anybody with a disability. Alicia gets really upset sometimes. I wonder if bobby will get the info or not.

Things Not Seen by Andrew Clements is a very strange book. It has a boy that turns invisible. When he does his parents don’t believe him at first. When they do they decide not to tell anyone because they don’t want to be invaded by news reporters. When they settle down they go to work and leave him home to watch TV or something. He chooses something and because it’s February he bundles up and goes to the library. This was useless because he can’t do anything because what are people going to think when a book magically opens. When he gets home his dad has already been there and sees that he has gone to the library. We’ll have to read farther to find out the rest.

If I was to be a color I would choose to be blue. I would be blue because then on a day I’m feeling down I could turn into purple with some black paint. Also on a day I’m feeling good and happy you could add some yellow and I would turn into a nice bright green. Blue is also a cool color because it is on the flag and my birthstone is blue since I was born in September. Also blue doesn’t stain really easy so I could clean myself easier and I wouldn’t show old age as easy as some colors like white, tan, and yellow. Therefore I would want to be blue if I had to be a color.

I recommend the book The Sign Of The Beaver by Elizabeth J Speare for somebody who likes old time adventure books. The book has an Indian boy in it that has been left home alone while his dad goes back to get the rest of his family. He has to live alone in the cabin they built and he runs out of sugar and flower. Then he trys to take honey from bees. In the process he got stun severely. This led to getting help from a chief Indian. This is were Attean an Indian gets lessons from Matt. Attean shows Matt many cool survival skills. In the end winter comes and the Indians go to there hunting grounds. It will be up to you to find what happens to the Indians and if his dad comes back with his family. Do you want to know because if you do you should read The Sign of the Beaver?
