1. Research on the internet by doing a search on "Characteristics of successful people"
2. Read and list at least 3 articles you read. List them by writing down or pasting the URL.
3. Interview a parent or adult about what characteristics successful people have and take notes. Make sure you write down who you interviewed
4. Take the information that you have collected and write an article on your blog called "The 3 Most Important Characteristics for Success" Describe each of the character traits. This must be posted by Monday March 15th.
5. Tuesday you will need to comment on your classmates choices for the most important characteristics and either agree or disagree, but support your comments with what you know or have learned.
The 3 most things I think is most important to be a successful person is:
·Having a dream, because if you don’t have a dream then you really don’t know how far and how high you can go with that dream and you can push yourself until you reach that dream
·Having a plan, because if you don’t have a plan you wouldn’t really know what to do or how to do it
·Staying focused or staying with that goal or dream, because the only way you are going to get something done is if you stay focused
I interviewed my mom and she though the 3 most important things for success is:
·Having goals, to give you direction and guide you
·Able to work well with other people , because almost everything in life involves people
·Balance, between hard work and relaxation. Balance between a plan and flexibility

1.A leader with vision has a clear, vivid pi cture of where to go, as well as a firm grasp on what success looks like and how to achieve it. But it’s not enough to have a vision; leaders must also share it and act upon it. Jack Welch, former chairman and CEO of General Electric Co., said, "Good business leaders create a vision, articulate the vision, passionately own the vision and relentlessly drive it to completion."
2. A good leader must have the discipline to work toward his or her vision single-mindedly, as well as to direct his or her actions and those of the team toward the goal. Action is the mark of a leader. A leader does not suffer “analysis paralysis” but is always doing something in pursuit of the vision, inspiring others to do the same.
3. A leader must be able to communicate his or her vision in terms that cause followers to buy into it. He or she must communicate clearly and passionately, as passion is contagious.

For my interview I asked Ms. Boyd what she thought were the top traits of successors and she came up with these 3.
1.Organization and Planning: Make sure you are always prepared.
2.Have a Good Work Ethic: Be motivated to be successful.
3.Be Willing To Learn: Stay open to feedback even if it is constructive.
After carefully reading through these articles and interviews, I think I have got the 3 most important characteristics of successful people.
1. Follow your dreams: Know who you are and want to become. Dreaming big will always help you.
2. The word "failure" doesn't exist in the world of successful people: Failures along the way to your dream will always boost you up later on.
3. Successful people have a caring heart: Never be afraid to reach out and help another. It is a skill that will never leave you.
In addition to these traits I have learned something throughout this whole assignment: never give up. Your future is bright.
Dream On,
ED

2.Successful People Have a Dream. They have a well-defined purpose. They have a definite goal. They know what they want. They aren’t easily influenced by the thoughts and opinions of others. They have willpower. They have ideas. Their strong desire brings strong results. They go out and do things that others say can’t be done(Found On)http://www.davekahle.com/article/people.htm
3.Successful People Have the Courage to Admit They’ve Made a Mistake. When you make a mistake, admit it, fix it, and move on. Don’t waste a lot of time, energy, money, and/or other resources trying to defend a mistake or a bad decision.(Found On)http://www.davekahle.com/article/people.htm
Remember: When people are wrong, they may admit it to themselves. If they are handled gently and tactfully, they may admit it to others and even take pride in their frankness and broad-mindedness. But people become very defensive and angry when others try to cram their mistakes down their throats
An adult Response: Mr McCartney,
They persevere they don't give up easily and they keep trying even if they fail 60 times. Take risks, smart risk. They're not afraid to take risk and they love what you are doing. If you don't enjoy what you're doing then find a job that suits you.

They work hard! Yes, they play hard, too! They get up early, they rarely complain, they expect performance from others, but they expect extraordinary performance from themselves. Repeated, high-level success starts with a recognition that hard work pays off.
They are incredibly curious and eager to learn. They study, ask questions and read – constantly! An interesting point, however: While most of them did well in school, the difference is that they apply or take advantage of what they learn. Repeated success is not about memorizing facts, it’s about being able to take information and create, build, or apply it in new and important ways. Successful people want to learn everything about everything!
They network. They know lots of people, and they know lots of different kinds of people. They listen to friends, neighbors, co-workers and bartenders. They don’t have to be "the life of the party", in fact many are quiet, even shy, but they value people and they value relationships. Successful people have a rolodex full of people who value their friendship and return their calls.
They work on themselves and never quit! While the "over-night wonders" become arrogant and quickly disappear, really successful people work on their personality, their leadership skills, management skills, and every other detail of life. When a relationship or business deal goes sour, they assume they can learn from it and they expect to do better next time. Successful people don’t tolerate flaws; they fix them!
They are extraordinarily creative. They go around asking, "Why not?" They see new combinations, new possibilities, new opportunities and challenges where others see problems or limitations. They wake up in the middle of the night yelling, "I’ve got it!" They ask for advice, try things out, consult experts and amateurs, always looking for a better, faster, cheaper solution. Successful people create stuff!
They are self-reliant and take responsibility. Incredibly successful people don’t worry about blame, and they don’t waste time complaining. They make decisions and move on. Sometimes they are criticized for taking this to extremes – Jimmy Carter carried his own briefcase and a President "shouldn’t" do that! Extremely successful people take the initiative and accept the responsibilities of success.
They are usually relaxed and keep their perspective. Even in times of stress or turmoil, highly successful people keep their balance, they know the value of timing, humor, and patience. They rarely panic or make decisions on impulse. Unusually successful people breath easily, ask the right questions, and make sound decisions, even in a crisis.
Extremely successful people live in the present moment. They know that "Now" is the only time they can control. They have a "gift" for looking people in the eye, listening to what is being said, enjoying a meal or fine wine, music or playing with a child. They never seem rushed, and they get a lot done! They take full advantage of each day. Successful people don’t waste time, they use it!
They "look over the horizon" to see the future. They observe trends, notice changes, see shifts, and hear the nuances that others miss. A basketball player wearing Nikes is trivial, the neighbor kid wearing them is interesting, your own teenager demanding them is an investment opportunity! Extremely successful people live in the present, with one eye on the future!
Repeatedly successful people respond instantly! When an investment isn’t working out, they sell. When they see an opportunity, they make the call. If an important relationship is cooling down, they take time to renew it. When technology or a new competitor or a change in the economic situation requires an adjustment, they are the first and quickest to respond.

1. Hard worker because if you don't you can't get any were. If you don't work hard it is really hard to excel in learning, or anything.
2. Creativity because if you aren't creative how can you think out side the box. And Creativity is what makes a lot of us different. Also, when people are problem solving they need to be creative.
3. Ability to focus on their goals because if you can't focus on your goals, there is no way you can accomplish goals. So, if you have the ability to focus on your goals you can do anything.

The Interview
I interviewed my mother, and she thinks that the following are characteristics of successful people, and why:
1. Persistence
2. Values
3. Strong Work Epic.
Why:
1. You need persistence to keep going, because you are always going to run into obstacles.
2. Successful people have values that they believe strongly in and they work hard for what they believe in.
3. Any successful person has to be willing to work hard in order to be successful.
My Top Three Characteristics of Successful People
1. Hard Working
2. They Don't Complain
3. They're Able to Make Compromises
Why:
1. What successful people AREN'T hard workers? You can't go too far if you don't work hard.
2. If a successful person complained, it won't help them any. People who make it far in the world cannot complain, or they won’t make it anywhere further.
3. Successful people make success by compromising. If you can't make a compromise in anything, then nothing will work out for you.
The Links
Here's a couple of links to people's thoughts on the characteristics of successful people:
