Which student created question(s) would you like to have spent more time discussing and why? (2-3 sentences)
A question that I would have liked to spend more time on was talking about how Jodee compares to the movie Rockie. The reason I would like to spend more time discussing this is because I wanted to hear everyone else’s opinion. It had a lot of discussion at first and then we had to switch questions. If we hadn’t switched questions then I’m sure we could have kept going on with our conversation. So this is why I wanted to talk about that question because I knew it would generate a lot of conversating.

What student created questions did your group agreed upon and justify? (4-5 sentences)
Our group agreed on most of the discussion that the question, What do you think Annie meant by “I don’t think anyone has to be mean to be feared” gave to us? We agreed that the point she was trying to get across to us was stereotyping and some kids, like Annie, get respect because she is feared at school. We also agreed that Annie and Jodee became friends because she understood what it was like to be made fun of and left out of the “cool crowd”.
What student created questions did your group disagreed upon and justify? (4-5 sentences)
The group I was with disagreed that Jodee’s parents were doing too much to help her get through the bullying. One of my partners said that they were doing too much in a bad way. I thought that Jodee’s parent were doing very well trying to make her happy but at times it was a little too much and it made me begin to think she was a little spoiled. My group also disagreed on the way Jodee acted. A member or two thought that Jodee acted childish around her parents because she always called them “mommy” and “daddy”. I spoke my opinion and said that maybe at times she acted that way but she may have grown up with calling them that name.

What student created questions in your group that generated the most discussion and justify? (4-5 sentences)
A topic that my group discussed was about the way Jodee felt more important by being involved in poetry. One of my group members said that Jodee became a part of poetry because she wasn’t entertained in any athletic sports. Another topic the group discussed on was if we think the issues with Jodee will change 10 years down the road and the responses were that it will get even more severe in the future. I made a comment to my group members response and just noted that I thought that was not the case and it would become less able to happen to Jodee because there will be more cameras or security in schools or public places.

I think that voting is a very good responsibility to have because without it we wouldn’t have a fair vote of president and vice president. We also need voting because we wouldn’t have representatives. Voting is important to our country because it gives us the opportunity to get involved with our Congress and it makes us more appreciated for what we have.
We also need to support our family because you never know what your family is going through unless you step in their shoes. Our families are the world to us because we have friends and family. Family is what you will rely on your whole life. Friends are like family but you don’t support your friends as much as you support your family. You need to support your family in everything that you do because if you want to be well supported in the futures by your kids then why not starts right now while you are young?
It is very important to know what your government is doing because if you want to get involved with things in your community then you need to know what your government is doing or you will not understand what is going on. If you don’t know what is going on then you won’t ever have the chance to vote and understand what you are supposed to do by law. As a U.S. citizen you should understand what is going on.

If I was at a party like that I would have probably done the same thing Jodee did because as a 6th grader that is just insane! I probably would of called my mom when they started playing the game because I would of guessed things would go farther as the night went along.
Jodee could of reacted as if it was no big deal while she was on the phone with her mom or if she just went into the bathroom to talk to her mother it would of been better so Callie's mom didn't know why or if she was even upset until your mom was there to tell her about it. She could of also just told Callie's mom before she called her mom.
I think that Jodee should not be punished for what the other students recieved from her parents because she was the one that called her mother and told her what was going on. She did the right thing and for doing the right thing it wouldn't make since to be punished for it.
I would of probably gotten in tons of trouble but I would never do that so I really don't know what my parents would say. I feel like I would be Jodee in that situation so I would do the right thing and my parents would not punish me for doing what was right.
I think Jodee's classmates are going a little to far. She saved most of them from making the worst mistake of their lives. She did something good for them and now she gets shunned. I would understand if they were just in a little fight where they didn't talk to eachother for awhile but beating her up is too far. It's not fair for Jodee to do something right and get beat up by the people she called her "friends".

My group agreed on how we thought that Jo Ellen was actually jealous of Marianne because Jo Ellen was not getting alot of attention from Jodee as she used to when her and Jodee hung out. We also agreed on how we thought Jodee did the right thing by telling Jo Ellen she will hang out with Marianne.
A topic that created a heavy debate was the way we all were talking about how excited Jodee was when she knew Marianne was coming over to her house and how she probably never felt that was with her old friends because they always wanted to be mean to people but Jodee was different and didn't want to do that to people.
Something that made my really think was when one of the teachers was telling us how her husband can't hear out of one ear and can't see out of one eye, and then on his other eye he doesn't have peripheral vision. So it just kind of made think about how lucky some of us are and we shouldn't take advantage of that. We should be happy with what we have and what we can do. It's not their fault. Making fun of them just makes it worse for them, they have enough to think about and they sure don't need you reminding them of what is wrong about them. It all just made me think twice.

"It was either shun or be shunned. The meaner you were to the "rejects" the more popular you became with members of your clique."
I think this quote means that when kids are mean to other kids then people laugh and want to hang out with you more so you can make them laugh. If you weren't mean to the "rejects" then you were considered a "reject".
I totally disagree with this quote because what if one day you decided this is getting mean or they want you to go a little to far and you say no. Well the people you were already mean to aren't going to be your friends anymore and the people you hung out with before aren't either because you stuck up for yourself and stuck up for the "unpopular".
This kind of reminds me of when Anna was always mean to Hannah just because Hannah wasn't as popular or pretty as her. So one day Anna went a little to far and finally told the kids that she hung out with that thought being mean to Hannah was funny, that she was going to apoligize to Hannah and then all of Annas friends started calling her names and didn't want anything to do with her. Neither did Hannah of course because of all the mean things that Anna said about her.

"A person should experience a nervous reaction if she is worried about failing, not because she's scared of succeeding"
* I think that there are people who are jealous and just because everyone does something different dousn't mean you stoop down to their level. If you are good at something and use your talent does not mean you are showing off, it just means you are good at something and you like showing it.
* It is alike because April is good at so many things and probably gets made fun of for being smart and an athlete. Hopefully she doesn't have a problem with being herself and just expresses herself even if she does get made fun of for it. Someday she will be successful for what she is good at. :)

"If you're good at something the popular crowd deems 'uncool', you are sunk"
* My opinion on being good at something and being made fun of for it just makes me want to get better. People can call me "uncool" but atleast I'm not picking on other kids for being good at something I'm not.
* One time Ashlynn was sitting in her math class and she was at the board working out a problem until Bethany blurted out "Your such a nerd." Then te whole class began laughing. Ashlynn went home after Track practice and cried. Then the next day she failed her math test on purpose so people would stop making fun of her.
* I think this quote would go for everyone because you should just be yourself. Don't be afraid being "uncool" Just because you can do something no one else can do as good. Everyone has different talents and other just need to understand that.
