Investing in the Stock Market

The companies I invested in were American Eagle, Microsoft & Apple because they are popular and big companies. I invested in Apple because their products are extremely popular and Apple releases new products frequently or have new and improved versions. When we bought our stocks it was close to Christmas and people give Apple ipods, macbooks and other must have Apple items as gifts. Many popular companies make big profits during the holidays. American Eagle is a popular teen and young adult clothing store. I love to shop there. Again Christmas was getting close and a lot of people give clothing and gift cards from American Eagle. I chose Microsoft because I knew windows 7 was going to be released soon and they usually do well when they release new software. The Microsoft operating systems are easy to use and consumer friendly. Recently on TV, you see their advertisements for windows 7 frequently.

There are few changes I would make to my stocks. I would buy more shares in Apple because it increased over 60 dollars from the time I bought it and sold it. I would also do more research on the companies before I invest in them.Over all I thought I made good choices for my companies. Microsoft is the only company I would change for a different company because it didn't make much money while we were investing in the stock market. Microsoft stock was a good learning experience because the stock can be unpredictable. In the future, depending on how much money I could spend I would invest in more companies.

From what I have experienced I learned a lot and can offer advice to people who are interested in investing in the stock market. I found that if you do at least a little bit of research on the companies that you have in mind that it will make your decision easier. I also think that you should pick companies that you are familiar with and not ones that your don't know much about. I think that new investors should buy a stock when it's low and sell when it is higher than normal. Another tip would be to sell your stock when you think it will go down or when you think it wouldn't go higher for a long time. Depending on your budget you should invest in more than one company. As an investor you could have a company that isn't moving at all and have another company that is do well, this would allow you to not loose a lot of money. Another good idea is to try some of the company's products before you invest in them.

Back in November we invested in the stock market. We were asked to buy shares from three different companies. We got to spend ten thousand dollors and no more. We had an hand written update sheet for the first couple of weeks. After we got going we created a spread sheet of open office spreadsheets. The spreadsheet allowed us to update our stocks every week without having to do any math or do out all of the formulas that the spreadsheet does for us. The hand wriiten update sheet we still use to write down the prices each week. Our spreadsheets would caculate all of our gains/ losses everyweek as we updated everthing. In class every Friday is when we would update our sreadsheets and check on our stocks.

I am a Caledonian solider i live in a very small mountain village. I Live in a thatched roof house. My house is right next door to the workshop. As i walk out of my small house, i say good bye to my wife and family and set out to meet the rest of our army for our big battle with the Romans we hope we will win but no doubt the Romans might just be too strong for us.

Our army's plan is to attack to the Romans at one of their nearby camps. While they worked in their workshops, bathed in their bath houses with hot water , toilets and drains. And while they relaxed we would try to do a surprise attack. But it was too late. were marching to the camp to attack but they were already coming to attack us. My men and I all started to worry because all our plans have changed immediately, we had to fight at once. As we approach the Romans on the battle field I was frighted by the there sharp spears with the 10 inch long points, their strong protective armor, their big 4 foot long iron shields. Our helmets were only leather and their helmets were iron so much more protective then ours. My weapons were primitive and my shield wooden. Our army is not nearly as strong as the Romans wealthy fierce worriers.

The Romans started to charge at us and throwing their spears that when they hit one of our shields the point would bent and wasn't able to be thrown accurately again. Many of our men were being stabbed by sharp pointed Roman swords. All of us had no choice but to defend our selves and our land. This battle was intense and i knew it would be a bloody one.

After a long fight it was clear that the Romans were just too strong and better equipped and our leaders and commanders gave up and we retreated. It was difficult to go home to all of our small mountain villages. All though both army's had workshops and the desire to defend there land the wealthy Roman empire was the best. Not winning the battle made us feel defeated but it was good to being going home alive. It was good knowing that we wouldn't have to fight the undefeated Roman army again because now all of the Caledonians were under the power of the Roman empire. When all the soldiers got home their families were very happy to see and welcome them home even know they didn't win.

Martin Luther King Jr.'s “I Have A Dream'” speech was given during the March on Washington on August 28, 1963. I think this speech was written to let people know that everybody is equal and should be treated the same, like this line “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged of their skin but by the content by their character. And this line “It is a dream deeply rooted into the American Dream,” not just these lines but the whole speech inspires Americans.

I think Martin Luther King's dream has come true because there really is not very much segregation or judging people by their skin color but by the content of their character anymore.

I wrote a myth called Wind about gods in the sky. There were three main characters, Hellio, Breeze and Seris.

Fog

Fog hangs from the tree tops

Artist Statement

The theme of my collage was lots of color and flowers. I wanted my audience to see that I love using color with my work. The materials I used were a white canvas, mod podge, yellow & orange paint and acrylic medium. First I cut all the pieces out of different magazines then glued everything down Then I made a design on a piece of paper and cut it out to use as a stencil . Next I put the mod podge on top of the stencil .And then I mixed the acrylic medium in with the yellow and orange paint and painted on the mod podged design . I think the color scheme I chose made my work successful. My inspiration and influence was again bright cherry colors.
