Roman Soldiers and Caledonian Warriors
Hello there, I am a Roman soldier I fight for the Roman army. Many years ago I lived with my family in Rome. My father was in charge of the household, he planned all my siblings marriages. My siblings and I went to school until we were 12. The rich boys continued their education until they were 15, and the rich Roman girls got special private lessons at home. When we were growing up we had no team sports but we had public games that were held by the government. These games included chariot racing, gladitorial games and circuses. It was awful seeing the people and animals die while playing the public sports.
Being a Roman soldier is not easy. We had to wear all kinds of armor and equipment, such as a sheild, helmet, tunic, boots, and swords to help us fight against the other armies. Some of the other armies such as the Caledonian warriors wore really heavy equipment also. They wore things like a torc, helmet, shoes, weapon and a shield to protect themselves from us. Fighting was not easy for us, but most of the time we won because we had such a well equipt and strong army.
As a soldier i stayed in a Roman soldier fort, this protected us from any enemies. There were five different locations for us to go into. They were the barracks where we slept, commanders quarters where the ruler stayed, bath houses, workshops where we made lots of different tools for fighting and the main head quarters. Out fort was surrounded by gates and fences and next to that was the parade ground where all of our parades took place in. The caledonian warriors stayed in their village which was made up of houses, and workshops. This was not well as ours, which means that they were not as wealthy as our Roman soldiers.
As you can see the Roman army that I was in was very good. We were good because were well equiped, wealthy, and the other armiers were not as wealthy, well equiped, or as good at fighting as we were. I enjoyed being a Roman soldier because I got to experience a lot of things that I normally would not have been able to. I really like growing up as a Roman boy and going to school. Education taught me a lot so that I could have a family of my own.

Martin Luther King Essay
“I Have a Dream”
Martin Luther Kings speech is about making people equal with each other and making sure that people get treated fairly. I think that his speech goes out to everyone to make America better. He wrote the “I have a dream” speech in 1963.
The evidence that helped me know why it was written is a quote from the document “ My country tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing, land where my fathers died, land of the pilgrims pride, from every mountain , let freedom ring”. This particular quote from the “ I have a dream” speech shows that everyone in America should have freedom.
I think that his dream did come true because America is a lot better now then it was before in the 1900s, not necessarily the economy, but the way people treat each other in America now a days. For example, people are treated fairly, everyone is nice to each other, no one is hated their just disliked.

I wake up and see the stillness of the fog.
It sits like an empty hole waiting for the whistling air to arrive.
In the dusk there are layers of fog twisting, lashing and veering.
This is how I know that gray suffused clouds are coming.

My Artist Statement - The theme of my work is all different types of food from different magazines. I want the audience to see that I really enjoy different types of food and that I like trying new foods all the time. I used a variety of material throughout my work. I used scissors, mod podge, and the white board that we pasted our pictures on to. What made my artwork very successful was that I took my time throughout all the periods we have for art and it made my artwork very successful.

One day in the land of magic in 2009, the Earth started to get blazing hot. The season was fall and usually in fall it never gets hot like this. This temperature was about 100 Fahrenheit, it was very unusual to the humans who were living on this earth, they could not stand it any longer and it got very difficult for them as the time went on.
Human 1 and Human 2 were trying all they could to lower this temperature some how. They thought of moving somewhere else, but that didn't work out. So Finally they thought they could use some magic skills to make the weather outside colder. But, they only had enough magic to do one magic skill. So all of the sudden they pull out their magic wand and start to whip it around in the air until it makes sparkles in the air and makes a loud BOOM! Sound.
Then all of the sudden a magical goddess appears, her name is Icicle, she is a very special goddess of snow and ice. Human 1 and Human 2 ask her if she would turn the temperature to below freezing. She reacts very obediently by spinning herself as hard as she could and saying magic words to make their wish come true. So finally the ground on the earth turns to snow and ice, all the flowers are defunct, all the trees are bare with no leaves, the animals had all scurried away into their little homes and the temperature turned to below freezing like they wanted.
Later on, Icicle gives them a special power and it is that they can turn the temperature to anything they want just by using their wands. The next day Icicle has left them to be on their own. Human 1 and Human 2 were very joyful and thankful to Icicle, they live on forever and ever in the land of magic Earth until they disappear into the air and never return again.
The End!!!

In school we had a person named Joe Flood come in and talk about some very important subjects for our future lifetime. Joe Flood is a ex-alcoholic, he has been to rehab for a couple of years in his life but now that he quit he does not do drugs anymore. He told us stories about teenagers, drugs and how it affected their lives.
When Joe Flood was talking to us, he said some very key point things about smoking and drinking. This was very important for me because he talked about the brain and the 6 stages of how drinking and smoking can cause you to die at some point. The very last stage is the stage where you are no longer alive. It is very sad to know the a lot of people in the world die from drinking too much.
I am very thankful to learn about drinking and smoking because I learned now that I have to be cautious about it for when I get older. Not only do I have to be cautious, but I have to be cautious around my friends because I don't want them them to encourage me into doing drugs. Thanks for reading!!!

Having the moons rocks from the moon was very cool. Because we got to see special rocks we don't see in everyday life. There were all different types of rocks. One was called basalt, it was the color of snow, I thought it was very pretty. We had these rocks for about a week. They came from NASA because NASA donated them to us and that was very nice of them. I wish the moon rocks could come back to our school.

I learned how to preserve food such as pumpkin, green beans, pickles, dried cod and jam.
Another very interesting thing I learned was that Abraham Lincoln was the one who declared thanksgiving as a national holiday for the U.S.
The last thing I learned was that the Russians drink their tea with a sugar cube in their mouth that's how it makes their tea really sweet.

Dear, Mom and Nana
I have learned a lot of new things this year in math class. In module one I learned exponents and what the exponential form and standard form was and also what the difference between them was. Exponential form is when you have a number and you have a smaller number above, which clarifies that it's in exponential form. Standard form is when you have the number written out. Example: 2x2x2x2=16.
My favorite thing I learned about was probability. Probability is a number from 0- 1 that tells us how likely an event is to happen. I learned what theoretical probability was and what experimental probability was. Theoretical probability is whats suppose to happen. Experimental probability is what the experiment turns out to be.
Another one of my favorite things I learned was PEMDAS. In math class our teacher had us listen to a math song that was about pemdas. Most of our class mates didn't like the song but I liked it. I thought it was very interesting.
Those are all the things I learned this year in module one. Thanks for reading.
