Memorial Bridge

The Memorial bridge is a very ancient and historic bridge. It has been around for about one hundred years now and its time for this bridge to get torn down. Most people are thinking that it will only last for about 2 to 5 years before it will get torn down. How long do you think it will last? Who knows they might be wrong! I think that they should tear it down soon and build a new bridge don't bother waiting 2 to 5 years it might really be dangerous by then. What do you think? I know this will cost a lot of money, time and effort but we can no longer have a dangerous rusty bridge for cars to go over back and forth from Portsmouth, NH to Kittery, MA. If they tear this memorial bridge down soon I hope they build a new that will be strong and high enough for the big tall boats to go by. THANKS FOR READING!!!!

The scanner project that we had to do in LA was pretty easy. All you had to do was just bring in 5 to 10 artifacts that represent what your character was like, the setting, and plot and then just put it on the scanner and print it. My artifacts are coins for the poor character, a stick for magic, a ripped piece of cloth for homeless and grapes for the setting that takes place in Italy.

I did a graph on what kind pets we have between our school and the Belize school. Our science teacher went to Belize and brought all the graphs to the children in Belize. They added some of the pets they have to our graphs and our science teacher brought most of them back so we could do them of wordle and then post them on our blogs.

In math class we learned about the stock market, we had to pick three different stocks, and buy a certain number of shares to equal $10,000. My stocks were Apple, Target and Starbucks. I have 30 shares of Apple, 30 shares of Target, and 92 shares of Starbucks. Overall I have made $1,442.32.

Science Weather Story

A couple of weeks ago NH and some other states had a huge storm called a nor'easter. Instead of getting inches of rain some of the other states got inches of snow. This was very bad because some people could not get out of their house, so they had to shovel their way out or have big plowing trucks come by and do it for them. This nor'easter caused a lot of flooding in my yard and my road. My yard and road was so full of water that whenever I came home from school or something else, my mom had to park in a special parking place away for the flooding so I wouldn't go into the water and get soaked. The day before I went back to school at around 9:00 at night, the power went out at my house. I totally freaked out. I was only with my grama that night but my mom came home later on. Finally at 3:00 in the morning, we got our power back and everthing was back to normal, but I was really worried about the freezer and the refrigerator because inside of them they had no power too so I didn't want the food to go bad luckily it didnt. This nor'easter happend during the weekend, after the weekend passed, I went back to school on Monday and the schools ceilings were leaking so our principal had to block of some of the stairways we use to get around to the library, downstairs etc. He was going to think about closing the school off meaning instead of getting out of school at 2:30 we woud get out of school a couple of hours earlier. But that didn't happen because everything got fixed in time. A couple of days later that storm ended and people became to become happy!!! Thanks for reading my weather story :)

Alpine Skiing/ Super Giant Slalom

Alpine skiing has been practiced in the European Alps for about
1500 years. Back in the old days, alpine skiers needed wider skis to go
down the downhill safely so that they wouldn't crash into something and
get ingured. This sport became wicked popular through the early 20th
century with the development of tows, ski lifts and T-bars, as the Alpine
skiers no longer had to climb up the slope before skiing down again. For
training, some of the Alpine skiers chose to be in one discipline over
another. The alpine skiers rely on their long hours of summer training to
build up their strong legs and abdominal muscles to help them maintain
and hold a fast agressive line.

Bode Miller is an alpine skier, he is the best skier in the world. He started
skiing when he was 3. In the last Olympics he didn't win any medals but
in the 2010 Olympics he won a lot of medals. He became third and won a
bronze medal. Svindal Aksel Lund from Norway won a silver medal and
Defago Didier from Switzerland won a gold medal in men's Alpine skiing
super giant slalom. In all, United states won 14 medals, Canada won 6
medals, Germany won 10 medals, France won 7 medals and China won 4
medals. So the U.S. won the most medals of this year.

Some of the skiing terms used in the Winter Olympics of this year are
Bindings- A mechanical device that locks a racers boot to their ski. Gates-
Poles on a ski that the racers turn around and navigate through as fast as
possible. Sidecut- A hourglass shape of the sides of the skis, where the
waist is narrower than the tail and the tip. About 75 years ago Alpine
skiing was practiced by a few hardy souls in a half dozen mountain
resorts in the European alps where the hotels and inns just begun to stay
open in the winter.
