Freshwater Pollution Most people wonder what effect water pollution will have on us, the water life, and the land around the water. Well, all of these questions can be answered in this little pamphlet. What is Freshwater Pollution? Well there are 3 main sources of freshwater pollution, fishermen, farming, and garbage. Garbage is mostly like plastic and glass containing waste liquid. Also bait from fishermen and tangled line gets dumped into the water. When line is left in the water is creates pollution. Batteries and tin cans can also make freshwater pollution when met with physical heat. How Does Water Pollution Affect You? Water pollution can harm you in lots of ways like; it could get into your water and make you sick. It can also kill the plants around it and the animals that might be drinking from it. It can cause a layer of slime around fish and stop the oxygen from coming through the gills. Water pollution can also harm our air. It also makes your drinking water unsafe for everyone. What Are Nitrates And Are They Bad? Nitrates are a natural compound. Nitrates are bad to every thing that drinks water. It can get into your water and make you sick from the bacteria. If your water has more then level 10ppm of Nitrates it is dangerous to your health. Nitrates can give a baby that is 4 months or younger can give your baby blue baby syndrome. Nitrates help plants and animals to grow but the can cause a grown man to either have a really bad illness or even die. How Can we Prevent Water Pollution? We can all prevent water pollution by picking up our garbage like bait and tangled line from the waters like lakes. BY picking up plastic and cans, cardboards, and other things that lay on the side of the roads. Putting less fertilizer and gardens. Also not throwing fish guts into fishing waters. Trying not to spill chemicals into the waters.a dead black and white bird
