I learned a lot about the stock market and about how it works. The stock market is the business of people selling or buying a stock. At the beginning of the day, a bell rings to show that trade has begun. There are two trading rooms which are the garage and the main room. The garage is a place where people can see how their stocks are doing. The main room is the place where the brookers come to either trade or work on their stocks. In the command center, they monitor everything that goes on in the stock exchange. The have to make sure that everything runs smoothly. If something goes wrong then they have to call the Operations Division. There they have to work quickly to get everything up and running again. Tthe Stock Exchange is very important because it is the center of trade.

A Little About Saint Lucy

I was friends with Lucy since we were children. Here is the story of her life. Lucy was born in Syracuse, Sicily. Lucy was born to a Greek mother named Eutychia and a Roman father who died after she was born. All through her life, I remember her giving to the poor all that she had. She also fully devoted herself to Christ. In addition to that, she also made a vow of virginity. In doing this, she had angered her future husband. I remember her parents trying to force her to marry this man. Somehow Lucy convinced them that Christ was better than marriage. Since she convinced them, she gave all of the wedding money to the poor. However, she couldn't convince everyone. Her future husband got angry because he said she was a Christian. In doing so, he turned her into the governor, Paschasius, of Sicily. When it was time to persecute her, everyone grieved including me. Her family and I tried to stop them, but it was no use. They just pushed us away. The soldiers tried to take her away, but she was immovable. I knew then that she was filled with the Holy Spirit, and that is what helped her through this ordeal.Since she wouldn't move, they surrounded her with fire. I was amazed to find that she wasn't dead. I then realized that once again the Holy Spirit saved her from death. Finally, the moment came when she did die. She was executed with a sword by one of the soldiers. She died in the year 304. After her death, I wanted the whole church community to recognize her for what she did for her faith. I also wanted them to know about her bravery and courage. She eventually was known throughout Rome and Sicily.
Lucy faced many challenges and struggles throughout her life as a Christian that I remember. She faced having to get married, and she faced being persecuted for her love of Christ. Lucy worked to overcome the struggle of getting married by convincing her parents to let her not marry. Lucy never wanted to marry; she wanted to stay a virgin. She knew what God wanted her to do, and she did what was right. When they agreed, she gave the wedding money to the poor. Her future husband didn't think this was right, and he turned her in to the governor for being a Christian. Then she was persecuted for her love of Christ. She also overcame this struggle by not giving up her faith in even the toughest scenario. She also put Christ first. In her case, she put Christ in front of her own life. But most importantly, she did it because she loved God. Back in Lucy’s time, following Christ was a crime. She ended up in jail. Eventually she was persecuted. She was persecuted by her eye being cut out and being stabbed by a sword. Along with her, though, was Saint Agatha. Lucy prayed to her for help. Saint Agatha was also martyred for her faith. She was someone who Lucy could relate to. Lucy had many struggles in her life since I've known her. However, she handled them with bravery and courage that I respect her for. She especially had to face the biggest challenge in her life- being martyred for Christ. I have picked Saint Lucy as the Saint I wish to study.
I chose this Saint because she is the patron saint of blindness. I have to wear glasses and have trouble seeing far away. Saint Lucy is someone that I can pray to if my vision starts to get bad. She is also a reason because of her hard life and death. She had a hard life because she had to have an arranged marriage. She didn't want to get married so she gave all her wedding money to the poor. Her future husband turned her in, and she was persecuted. I think that her life was tough because she put Christ first. Sometimes I don’t, and I think that she can help me with that. No, we don’t share the same struggles. However, I can relate to Lucy’s persecution for Christ because sometimes I want to do the right thing. The right thing can be hard sometimes because if your friends do it then you want to do it too. This saint is someone who could help me with my problems because she is someone who I could look up to. My research has helped me to strive to be a saint because now I am working even harder to put Christ first like she did. The virtues Saint Lucy possessed were generosity and meekness. I can imitate generosity today by donating things to the poor. I can imitate meekness today by standing up for my faith and having courage to do so. Lucy was chosen as a saint because of the way that she put Christ in front of her own life. She was also chosen because of the way that she shared what she had with the poor.
This image is of Saint Lucy. She is holding a plate of eyes because she is the patron saint of blindness. I got this image here.

Super Size Me

This year in health class we learned about nutrition and exercise. We learned about the importance of a healthy diet and how to eat healthy. We learned about the different kinds of foods that are bad and good for you.
The video "Super Size Me" is about a guy, whose name is Morgan, who takes on a challenge to eat McDonalds for 30 days straight. He has to also eat all 3 meals there, and he has to have tried everything before 30 days is up. Before taking this challenge, he goes to a nutritionist and to a doctor, who make sure that he is healthy enough to do this. One of these doctors doesn't expect a big change but as the challenge goes on the doctor is surprised with the change. When the doctors checked Morgan for the second time, there was a big difference: Weight gain, increased cholesterol, and an increase in fat in his body. The nutritional aspect of this is McDonalds' food isn't healthy everyday because of the amount of processed fat in it. This experiment also shows that at an exercise point of view McDonalds' food ,with the lack of exercise that people get each day, is very fattening and is 1 of the culprits of obesity in Americans. That video has changed the way that I look at fast food.
I learned from this video that fast food isn't the best food choice to eat. I think that I personally have started to eat better. I also found myself not eating as much fast food as I was. I also think that a person should manage their nutrition and exercise by not taking in more calories than you burn off. It is better to make them equal by eating the same amount of calories that you can burn off. I also think that people should manage nutrition by making healthier choices like salads and fruit instead of junk foods. This video has taught me a lot about staying healthy and exercising more.

The purpose of this project was to learn about different countries. My country was France and I had to look up different things about France like the different religions and the culture of France. The first step in this project was to research the country. Then I had to turn it into an online book. I am putting this on my blog to teach people about France.

3. Have gender equality and give power to women.
4. Reduce the death of children.
5. Improve maternal health.
6. Help prevent diseases like AIDS, Malaria, and HIV.
7. Ensure a safe environment.
8. Develop global partnerships for development.
Those are the goals to help stop global hunger.
The goal that is underway is to help stop hunger and thirst in countries. They are helping to stop people from dying of starvation by having food drives. Roller Coaster Physics

The purpose of this project was to learn about roller coasters. Newton's three laws of physics are :
- An object in motion stays in motion, and an object at rest stays at rest unless a force acts on it.
- The acceleration of an object depends on the mass of the object, and the size of the net force applied.
- For every action there is a reaction.
In my group we made a roller coaster named " The Rabid Coaster." We called it "rabid" because once you come down the hill you went in a loop. In our group I was the historian, and I learned that the tallest roller coaster is in Jackson, New Jersey. OK was the design engineer and she learned that the first roller coasters were in Russia, and they were built of wood. DR was the physicist, and she learned the difference between kinetic, and potential energy.
Our roller coaster was a success because once it came down the first hill it had enough energy to go around the loop. It also didn't have too much energy that it crashed. I would not do anything to change our coaster.

The three things that I learned about copyright are:
1. Copyright lasts a lifetime.
2. Copyright is permanently fixed work that anyome can see or hear.
3. Music, books, dance, plays, and movies can all be copyrighted.
So only use things that you are sure that they are not copyright, and click here for more information: http://www.digitalcitizenship.net/Nine_Elements.html
