My 5th Grade Essay
Your 5th grade year will be one of the best of your life. You will face many challenges, but also have many favorite moments from this year. The things your teachers expect out of you will be somewhat difficult. 5th grade will give you opportunities to be social and communicate. You will also need some survival skills in order to make it through the year. All of these things will be covered in my essay.
Wow, 5th Grade sure has been a great year! I had a great time! I was student council president and was able to make decisions and be a leader, two things I have always wanted to do. I also had the pleasure of doing the simple machines project with my friend Daniel. That was such a great way to use our visual thinking skills. But, of everything, I think the most pleasurable moment of the year for me was when I broke the triple jump record. I had wanted that for the entire year and finally achieved it on May 12, 2010! I think the thing that gave me the most motivation to break the record was the moment when I saw my dad in the stands right before I jumped. I am so glad of everything that happened this year.
In 5th grade, you will be expected to do a lot of things in the classroom. Like, all the teachers expect you to be listening in their classes. You are also expected to be responsible for your materials in class. But, to me the most important expectation of all the teachers is that your work should be done. So, for all you soon to be 5th graders out there, remember these classroom expectations because, trust me… you’ll need to know them next year.
Next year, you are to face many challenges. But, the thing is, these challenges are things that you are really going to enjoy. For example, this year one of the hardest challenges for me was thinking of things to write down for my R.T.I lit. roles. Another example of a challenge I faced this year was having to make up work from when I was in outside activities like Peace Patrol. But, to me the most difficult challenge this year for me was the PROJECTS. They were fun but, man they took some serious effort. So, I guess to sum it all up I conclude that, even though I faced many challenges this year, they were fun and they taught me life lessons I’ll never forget.
Okay, let me tell you something. 5th Grade is hard! The 4th Graders aren’t going to know what hit them on the first day of school. So, for all you 4th graders out there, here are a few tips on how to survive 5th grade. 1) Make sure you get on Mr. McCartney’s good side. 2) If you are in any outside activities, make sure you make up what you missed. 3) Stay out of trouble. 4) Expect projects just about every week. And 5) Get your work done! Well , that’s about it. All you have to remember is that, while it is fun, it is challenging. Make sure that you enjoy it while you can.
This year I was really able to interact with people and make some new friends. Some examples of how I did that are said below. One way I was able to was, by choosing to be partners for projects with people that I really didn’t know that well. Another way I was able to do that was through Skyping TM with other classes around the globe. A final way I was able to do that was by just talking to people that I didn’t know that well and finding a little bit about them. I really enjoyed the social opportunities I was given in 5th grade.
Before I go there is something that I have got to say. My teacher Mr. McCartney has taught me so much about life this year. Everything he has said is worth noting but, to me the most important thing he has said that has helped me the most is his famous line, “Figure it out.” I ask you to think about that for just a moment. That one simple phrase has helped me so much. It makes you wonder and really rethink whatever you have done. So, to you Mr. McCartney I thank you so much for your line that appears most often, “figure it out.”
Well, I guess you now know that 5th grade will be quite a year. You know that, although you will face many challenges this coming year, you will also have many favorite moments. You understand that your teachers will expect a lot out of you in the classroom, and that you will get to be a very social person this year. You also have a few survival tips under your belt. So, all in all, you know that 5th grade will be a year you’ll never forget.
Sincerely,
ED

Today was pretty much one of the best days of my life. At our school track meet, I set the record for the triple jump. I am so happy! I feel like I just like cured cancer or something. I'm so excited!

I just went to Iron Man 2 and it was awesome!!! I definitely recommend it to anyone who is a huge Iron Man fan (like me). I thought it was way better than the first movie and is going to be Oscar worthy in the winter!

I sit here after the game
My head all full of shame
Because of me we lost
I don’t think I can bear to see the boss
One shot! One shot!
All we needed was one shot
All I see is an awestruck team
This is like a bad dream
The game was great
Definitely one to date
Before this was a locker room
But now it’s just a room full of doom

OMG!!! I just went to the Owl City Spring Tour concert! It was amazing! My favorite part of the concert was when Adam Young sang "Meteor Shower", my favorite song ever! I can't to hear Owl City live again someday.
