We have three 6th grade Science classes and two 8th grade Science classes blogging here from the Pacific Northwest in Chimacum, WA! Sixth graders are learning a bit about Mt Saint Helens, environmental science through fresh water ecology, and physical science this year. Eighth graders are learning about life science this year. Batteries

    When a battery is dead, you normally plug it in if it's rechargable. But, there's more to it than that. Chemical energy is inside the battery. When it gets the electrical energy, it all turns into chemical energy which repowers the battery. Then, the battery is ready to work! I find it amazing how fast electrical energy can turn into chemical energy. Energy is an amazing thing!
