Fresh Water Pollution What Is Water Pollution?

Water pollution is made of terrible waste products or other substances. This happens when physical, thermal, chemical, or biological characteristics of the water adversely affecting living species and reducing the waters beneficial uses.

“When pollutants enter a river system from a range of land uses across its catchments. Often, poor water quality is the result of the combined effects of a variety of activities in the catchments. Some pollution comes from sources which can be pin pointed for example a factory or intensive agriculture discharging its waste into a drain.” 18-4.pdf (page 1 0f 6) River and estuary pollution.

A nitrate is a natural compound present in all ecosystems. It is one of the chemicals essential to plant life but a lot can be a problem for plants and animals. Nitrate is also a component chemical and manure based fertilizers. would you want this cute little polar bear to die swimming in water pollution?

How Does Water Pollution Affect You?

If you pollute the oceans sustain life on this planet we wouldn’t have any fresh water to drink. It would be hard to breath. Also if you drink excessive level of nitrate, it can cause you extreme illness, death symptoms, blueness of skin, and even trouble breathing. Nitrates include potential effects from life time exposure at the levels above MCL. The safe level for nitrates in drinking water is 10-kg (22 lb.) For children consuming water amount 1 litter per day. 10-day exposure to 10 MG/L total nitrate/nitrite. To bring down the level of nitrate in your water, you should use less amount of fertilizer so that the water will be only a little polluted. If you don’t use fertilizer at all that’s great! Tile drainage system can be placed deep in the soil. There for it reduced the chance of nitrate entering the river system.

What can be done to improve the quality of water after it has been polluted?

Solutions involve finding sustainable ways for the urban area to reduce both its dependence on pollutants and the amount of pollutants. You could also pick up the piece of litter when you see it.

How Can I Help Prevent Water Pollution?

1.You could maintain routine surveillance of the waterways.

2.you could monitor water quality to detect signs of pollution or contamination.

3.You could also follow up complaints and concerns referred by the community.people cleaning up water pollution!
