Threatend Specias

It is so sad to here that some of my favorite animals are going in danger! I hadn't known about this untilĀ I was given an assignment for Time For Kids, the magazine. The first most endangered animal is the Javan rhinoceros. There are fewer than 60 known living in the wild in Asia! They are endangered because of hunters and loss of habitat! Thinking of such an interesting animal being killed by a human just brings tears to my eyes! The 2nd endangered animal is the Tiger. There are just too many kids to count that I know who love the tiger, and is there favorite animal! Illegal hunting and habitat loss are taking a big roll on the big cats. If you know anyone doing illegal hunting, then you need to let someone know! Very recent studies show that there may be as few as 3,200 tigers living in the wild in Asia. The 3rd most endangered animal is the Magellanic Penguin. They are such pretty animals too! These penguins live along the coastline areas of Argentina and Chile. The populations of 12 of the 17 penguin species are shrinking rapidly! The 4th most threatened species is the Pacific walrus. This animal lives in the Arctics Bering and Chukchi Seas. Walrus rest and give birth on floating ice. Climate change is causing the ice to melt. The 5th most endangered animal is my brothers favorite animal. A Mountain gorilla. There are actually about 720 of this gorilla subspecies in the wild. Conservation efforts in Africa have led to an increase in their number. But they are still endangered, mostly due to illegal hunting and habitat loss. Please make an effort to help save these presiouce animals!
