Title: Quote for October 2nd (10/02/09)
Description: Write your favorite quote and explain why you like it. Respond to the quote and share your thinking

Nina -- Unscramble your eggs...

Article posted October 2, 2009 at 07:10 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 1823

My favorite quote from this week was...

"You can't unscramble eggs."

This was my favorite quote because the eggs are sort of like your mess. You can't unscramble your eggs or your mess. Although you can't unscramble your mess (eggs) you can still try to fix it.

Ellen -- Never Judge a Book Just by how it Looks

Article posted September 25, 2009 at 07:57 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 431

"Don't judge a book by its cover."
--English proverb

I think this proverb tells us that even if the cover of a book does not look interesting, like the illustrations aren't very appealing or something, that is not all a book is for. To be fair, you should give the book a second chance by either reading the back or opening to a random page and reading that. These are better ways to judge or choose a book.

Ben -- My favorite quote this week for october 2nd is...

Article posted October 2, 2009 at 07:16 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 492

"We haven't failed. We now know a thousand things that won't work, so we are much closer to finding what will."

-Thomas Edison

I think it means that you can't fail until you give up so don't give up. Thomas Edison tried about 400 different ways to invent the lightbulb and then he finally got it. His saying was " I didn't fail to invent the lightbulb, I found 400 different ways not to invent the lightbulb.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    I like this one because I can relate to it. I sometime struggle and I always tell myself not to give up because if you give up your only giving up on yourself.

Quote: "You can't unscramble eggs." -John Peirpoint

My response: I think that John Peirpoint is saying that if you do something wrong or say something wrong you can't take it back but you can try to by saying sorry.

My favorite quote of the week is....

"We haven't failed. We now know a thousand things that won't work, so we are much closer to finding what will."

                                                                                                     -Thomas Edison

I think he is trying to say that there are so many things that won't work so now they have narrowed it down so most of the things try will work. So never give up!
