I read the article A Sticky Situation in news week. This was the sticky situation. "Alexis plays the taba in the school band, and really

I think Alexis should keep playing the tuba since she likes it. The other girls are just being mean. She should ignore them and move on in life. Real friends would not teas her.

Time To Get Serious

Time To Get Serious

I expected all the witches to start moving toward the dining room, but they just kept doing what they were doing. I looked for the kitchen, found it, and quickly darted in. When I looked around, I realized that the bell I heard was not a dinner bell, it was a timer for the steak. I put a little mouse maker in each serving of food, then quickly left.
Outside, grand-mama and I filled up all the cracks in the doors so the "mice" could not get out. We heard a real dinner bell chime. We waited, and waited, then finally, we heard screaming. The witches were turning into mice! We let the cats in then went happily down the hill towards our home.
A few weeks later, we climbed the hill again, and opened the door to the castle. The cats streamed out and all the mice were gone. We looked around and decided to live in the castle from then on.

The End

The Castle

The Castle

"That castle looks creepy," I thought when my grand-mama and I started up the hill towards it. It seemed even creepier when I realized every witch in the world was in there right now. When we got near the back of the castle, I called the cats to follow. Grand-mama slipped me under the door, as soon as I was in, I ran out of sight.
Witches quickly walked around trying to keep the new Grand-high Witch's commands straight. I wanted to stay and look around but I had one job to do and one job only: turn the witches into mice. I heard a dinner bell ring. Was I too late???

The Witches

Article posted November 23, 2009 at 11:12 PM GMT0 • comment (2) • Reads 784

In class, we read the book, The Witches. The story is about witches that turn children into mice because they hate kids. Turning children into mice took exactly 26 seconds and when you turn into a mouse it is painful because you shrink, grow fur and grow a tail. Wutches have other evil things they do to children like trapping them in paintings. Luckily, one of the witches didn't hate kids, and she saved one of them by turning him into a human again! When a witch saves a child she turns into a human.
We also watched the movie so we could compare them. One difference between the book and the movie was in the end of the book, the boy didn't turn back into a human but in the movie, he did. Another difference was that in the book the grandma had pneumonia and in the movie she had diabetes.
It's a good story if you like adventure. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being "I hated it" and 10 being "I loved it") I would rate it a 9 because there were some parts that were too gross for me, but most of it I LOVED!

The MIll

When I went to the Mill, I definitely liked the fourth floor the best because it was the most interesting. The reason it was interesting was it told more about that timeperiod. They took their baths in the kitchen! It was definitely a harder life.

If I were in that life, it would be really hard. I would pull through though. It might be fun to sew, that’s one thing. Did you know that if one person outgrew their clothes, they passed them down and down and down until there were no more kids to pass them down to. Then they would tear up the cloth and use it around the house. For example they made washcloths and dishrags out of the clothes. It was a way different life from ours!

I like this quote because it tells you to plan ahead. But if you do not plan you are planing to fail. When you are panning make sure you think of everything because if you don't you might fail

Honus and Me

Article posted September 25, 2009 at 08:07 PM GMT0 • comment (2) • Reads 444

This book was about a boy how wishes he could meet Honus Wagner, a famous ball player. Then, like magic, Honus ends up in his room! I thought I would not like this book because it was about baseball. I ended up LOVING it. do not judge a book by it's cover.

I liked this book because it had a lot of action. I also liked when he went back in time. Honus seems like such a nice guy, it's a shame he's dead. I hope you read this book. You will love it!
