Welcome to 4th Grade

4th Grade was awesome! I wish I could stay in Mr. Edwards class because we got to do a lot of creative things.
One thing we got to do was visit the Museum of Science and Industry! That was SO fun because we got to see and do everything, which was awesome. Some things we saw were a fake tornado that REALLY looked real, a model of Chicago, and we got to listen to a Fairy Tale Kingdom. Some things we got to do were we got to estimate and choose how big we wanted a model of a tsunami was, if you're lucky you can go to the Rocket Ship that went all over the place, and a cool one was there were tow glass things, and when you spoke into one of the glass things, you could hear what you said at the other glass things.
Another thing we did was we made a simple machine . It was so fun making it because you could be creative and build whatever meant something to you, and you could see all of the other creative things other classmates made. 4th grade was awesome and that is why.

Simple Machines

Article posted April 30, 2010 at 04:49 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 566

In this picture Kellen and I are testing out some surfaces, to see which one produced the most friction. First we rolled the car down the yellow smooth surface, which didn't produce much friction. Then we tried the grass surface, which produced a lot of friction, because it was rough. After the grass we tried the pink bumpy surface, and found not a lot of friction. Last but not least, we tried the grated surface, that had a lot of friction. The most was arguably the grated or grassy surface, the second most was the bumpy surface and the third most (or last) was the smooth yellow surface.

Uncle Sam's boat in danger.

I think the comic from Uncle Sam's Boat In Danger, is pro-immigration because it looks like every other boat was trying to get to America but were overcame. The only boat to make it to America was the U.S. Life boat.

Upper Class Girl

If I were to be any nineteenth century, person, I would be the Upper Class Girl. I would be her because you wouldn't have to do chores, you were to live in a two story house, with a yard, you would get to roller skate, play lawn tennis, and bike around, and you were very wealthy, so you could afford lots of toys, etc.

Vowels

A is yellow like the Simpson's skin color and the sun at sunset.

E is green like a sign for a missing dog, or snot running down your nose in Winter.

I is red like the fresh blood of an open wound, or a fresh cut.

O is purple like Barney the big, fat, dragon.

U is white like an unpainted wall after moving out, or an unwritten paper of a struggling student working hard to finish a test.

Spring Break

Article posted April 7, 2010 at 07:39 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 600

Over spring break I first went to a hotel in French Lick, called West Baden Springs, and another hotel called French Lick Resort which was in West Baden, Indiana. Both hotels looked like a royal palace. West Baden Springs had fantastic restaurants. My favorite was Starbucks. The top of the hotel looked beautiful. At the hotel, I swam, ate, slept, and had a good time.
In the other hotel we just visited. I didn't do anything, but my mom and grandma gambled. They played slots. In all they won $10.00!!! After Indiana, I just hung out with friends.
On Saturday, I headed down to my family friends, the Pfaff's Michigan house. We watched both final four college basketball games. It was West Virginia vs. Duke, and Butler vs. Michigan State. I wanted Michigan State and Duke to win. Duke won, and Michigan State lost.
We also played pool. I was on my friend's team every time. We won a lot, because we had like 5 1/2 balls to make and they had 1 1/2 balls. Then they would shoot the eight ball in (accidentally ) and we would win!!! At night we watched Saturday Night Live. It was a rerun. On Sunday we drove back home.
What a break=http://=http://=http://!!

Flug Buckin, a Baseball Hero

Article posted April 5, 2010 at 07:11 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 540

Flugan Buckin

One day there was a boy. That boy's name was Flugan Buckin, Flug for short. Flug was an amazing baseball player. He was a pitcher. He had amazing posture. He never looked bad while pitching. For him winning the game was a treasure, a great pleasure. He loved to win, but win or lose, he tried to do the best he could. Whenever he lost everyone else felt like a failure, but not Flug. He was the team motivator. He would always say "That's ok, we could always win next time"

Flug's Future

In Fluge's future, he saw himself being an MLB pitcher. He looked up to Johan Santana, Tim Lincicum, Josh Beckett, and C.C. Sabathia. He had posters hung up of different ways to throw different pitches. He was fanatic about baseball. He even dreamed of him, on the mound, pitching the final pitch that will win the seventh game of the world series.

The World Series

Over the next 5 months Flug Buckin's baseball team went 17-9, moving him on to the playoffs. They were the third seed. In the first round they won the series, 3-1. Then, in the second round they won 5-3. In the third round they won 7-6. Then, they knew it, they were in the World Series!!! Flug's team was 4-4 in the World Series causing the 9th game. When Flug got home his mom said "Congrats" "Why" Flug asked. "You're pitching the final game of the World Series!!! Flug and his family celebrated for the rest of the night.
The next morning, Flug was on the mound. The next eight innings flew bye fast. The score was 5-6, the other team. Flug's team batted first, in the top of the ninth. They scored two runs bringing the lead. Then Flug stepped on to the mound to pitch the bottom of the ninth. With a 3-2 count with bases loaded, two outs, Flug was on. Flug felt trapped and captured in a box with no way out. There was so much pressure. It was torturous. Then, Flug went into his wind-up. Then right as he let go of the ball, he heard a very obscure sound. He tried to find out what it was, and while he was doing this, the baseball smacked him in the head. He fell unconscious and was brought off the diamond on a stretcher. When he got to the hospital, there was nothing wrong with him, so he got to go home. When he got home, his teammate Johnny Billups, called to tell him the good news. "WE WON, WE WON=http://!!!" Said Johnny, and the rest of the day was grand.

Scolastic News

Article posted March 19, 2010 at 06:57 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 739

On my Scolastic News, I read the article, "I'm an Artist" by Aliki Grafft. This article is mainly about Aliki Grafft always wanting to be an artist, and now what she does as an artist. This article takes place in the Disney Studios, in 2010. Some important people in this article were Aliki Grafft, her Grandpa, he partner, and her manager. Some facts I learned from the article were that she creates songs and draws the characters for the Disney original, Phineas and Ferb, she always loves drawing cartoons, and she went to USC. I believe the important facts, are important because she followed through with what she loved and now here she is, making animations for a famous show. I think the interesting facts, are interesting because I like Phineas and Ferb and to know that Aliki Grafft animates characters for Phineas and Ferb, that is pretty cool!

Dear Mr. Gorilla Dog Jumper III, What is cracking? How's life? I think by now you should know that I'm your biggest fan. I love your baby books and chapter fiction books, stating how Chimp Dilly is a baby who lives in the Jigglespow. Your books are good. Whenever I read your books, I laugh so hard I have to take medication for the next month. Thank you,                                                                                                                                                                              Your biggest fan

Scholastic News, Current Events

On my Scholastic News, I read the article "Artist at work".
This article was about an author who wrote his book through pictures. He writes about African American freedom. He rights of a long time ago, when white and black people were in a feud, and didn't have equal rights. He wrote a book on Jackie Robinson, being the first African American to go into the MLB.
I think I'd like to read his new book on Jackie Robinson called "Breaking the Ice"., and that's why!
