Leaf Critters

Article posted October 16, 2009 at 01:52 PM GMT • comment • Reads 901

We read the book "Leaf Man" by Lois Elhert. We went on a nature walk and collected leaves then we made leaf critters of our own. Next we wrote stories about our Leaf Critters. They came out really cool! Our Leaf Critters are hanging on our bulletin board outside our classroom. Some of them are Leaf People and some are Leaf Animals. There are also Leaf Plants, Pumpkins and even Leaf Bugs. All of us had fun doing this project!

Our class and Mrs. Hanson's class worked together to create our fair project on the life cycles of the Monarch and Swallowtail butterflies.  We think it looks fantastic!

Creative writing

Article posted September 24, 2009 at 11:24 PM GMT • comment • Reads 563

We really enjoyed reading the book "Flanimals" by Ricky Gervais. After reading the book we decided to create our own class creature based on Flanimals. Each of us added one creature feature and here's the result! Then each of us created our own creature for a classroom book. Here's what we wrote about our classroom creation that we named Bulsbungancream.

Bulsbungancream is crazy, as in "mad." He has an antenna on his head so he can call people. He smells like rotten eggs and chocolate ice cream. Bulsbungancream has one eye so he can only look straight. He wears a hat to cover his bald spot. He thinks he's so funny that he dies laughing so much.

Look for our individual creations on our blog pages- Coming soon!
