Today was the grand opening of our Castle Cafe. Everyone had a great time! Here are some pictures of the children all ready to do their jobs.

We're getting ready for the opening of our restaurant. We've baked the cookies and the muffins. We've started decorating the room. We've signed each other's uniforms. This is going to be fun!

Today our reservation clerk took reservations for next week's Castle Cafe. One of the people that phoned thought they'd hire our clerk because she was so good on the phone. Way to go!

On June 27th our class is opening the Castle Cafe. We are very excited about our restaurant and hope you can join us. Remember to phone our reservation clerk on TUESDAY, JUNE 21 to make your reservations. We all had our job interviews this week. The interviewer said we all did awesome and she gave us all the jobs we wanted. Here's a picture of us on the morning of our interviews and of one of us getting our job.

Hockey Fever!!!

We have been wearing pedometers at recess and we've been running and walking as much as we can. We are calculating our kilometers and we are seeing who can complete a 10K, a half marathon and a full marathon. Our city has a marathon once a year and the organizers gave us some medals. Here are the first three students to complete their marathon. They each have run 42.1 km since the beginning of May.

We've been busy! We're working in our offices doing a lot of writing. We are grade one authors and we are trying to write a book. We have also been spending time in the forest beside our school and investigating what lives there. In Math we've been looking at patterning again and thought we'd try some 3D patterns. We have also spent a couple of gym classes doing some yoga. Have a look...
