The whole school had a fun afternoon at Crescent Park on Thursday afternoon. K-2 went to the water park while the rest of the school went swimming in the large outdoor pool. The weather was excellent! The water was cool and most importantly... everyone got treats.

On June 5th the Pre-K class and my class planted our garden at the Yara Community Gardens. We had a beautiful day. The weather was awesome! We planted corn, sunflowers, pumpkins, carrots and radishes. I can't wait for the fall harvest!

The children explored both 2-D and 3-D shapes using toothpicks and mini marshmallows. As you can see they have discovered how to construct cubes, tents, houses, among other things. They realized that spheres, cones and cylinders were not possible because of their curved surfaces. The activity was not only fun but it tasted good too!

We had a pancake breakfast this morning. Mr. S. and Ms.Fraser cooked the pancakes. Parents provide fruit trays and cheese plates. The children brought their appetites. We all gorged ourselves. I didn't know that grade 1s and 2s could eat so much! Nobody went away hungry. Thanks to the parents who were able to provide fruit and cheese.

It's Aboriginal Story Telling month in Saskatchewan. Our school division celebrated by having a story telling event at Yara. We listened to stories, drumming and singing. We also got to see dancing. It was an awesome event!
