Welcome to our Bright Whetu blog.
We are a class of Year 3 children at Westbrook School, Rotorua, New Zealand. We hope you enjoy having a look at what we have been up to.
My Painting
When it was the holidays I went to Opotiki to a camping ground. I went with my Mum and Dad and
little brother and Shannon from Mrs Hunts room and her family.
At the camp there is a pool across the road. There is a playground and warm showers, a T.V room with games. There’s a Dairy and I bought an ice block there.
Shannon and me saved two sparrows from dying. We named the girl one Chocolate and the boy one Sparky. Chocolate learned to stand on your finger. She had a broken wing and leg but it healed. Sparky had a broken neck and wing.
The next day we saw Chocolate was dead and a cat was right in front of her. That night Shannon’s Dad told me he saw Sparky fly away with his mother.
For the rest of the day Shannon’s family and my family went in the pool. We stayed for 6 days. I was so happy when I saved Sparky. He fell out of the tree after the huge storm.
It is the most fun thing when we go camping. Opotiki is two and a half hours away.
