Welcome back to an exciting new term. I hope everyone has had a great holiday because I did. I went to Perth in Australia, how cool is that. This term is going to be an excellent term! There will be more mufti days and another Blokes Books and Boys night, infact we are actually having a mufti day tomorrow. The theme is Pacifica and it is $2. We are having a mufti day to raise funds for the tsunami over in the Samoa. In the I.C.T room we will be doing statistics using online surveys. Thats all for now. I'll keep you updated.

Web Design Time

My class Rm 3 has been studying Fabrics and Fibres for our Social Studies. We have decided to enter a competition called "TV Nz 6 Netguide Schools Multimedia Challenge" which is a web page design competition. If you are wondering what this has to do with Social Studies then I'll tell you. Every time we come to ICT we work on our Fabrics and Fibres topic on a web page. Some of these topics are cotton, Abaca, Hemp and that's only a few! These web pages will be entered in the competition and will hopefully win us 1st 2nd or 3rd place. The prizes are all very cool prizes. From what we have heard anyway. We are all having a lot of fun. We only have a few weeks left but I am positive that we will all finish. Wish us luck, we'll need it!

Film Club News

An exciting project this term is the development of a partnership with Satara Cooperative. The TPPS film club will be working closely with Satara staff to develop a training DVD. This project will involve children visiting Satara to film workers in the kiwifruit industry performing their jobs. The group will then use the footage to create a video so that new workers to the industry can learn what each task involves, along with the important health and safety messages relevant to each task. Potential employees will able to view video clips narrated in their own language to enable understanding of procedures and job descriptions. The film crew hope to have the video ready for the 2010 packing season

What's been happening in ICT for Rm 3

Article posted July 31, 2009 at 01:20 AM GMT0 • comment • Reads 531

Room 3 have been busy researching fabrics and fibres. We were watching videos about where fibres come from and how they are made.

We have also been updating our blogs. They are awesome! Have a look... Go to the Te Puke Primary School website, go onto class webpages then click on Room 3 blog. Once you're there, click on the Room 3 link on the right side to open up the student list. You can then click on a name and that person's blog will open.

ICT Fun

Article posted July 3, 2009 at 02:59 AM GMT0 • comment (1) • Reads 644

Hi I'm Marnie and I love ICT. In ICT we dance to music and we play games on the computer. For the last few weeks room 3 have been learning how to make class blogs and that is really fun.To be a good blogger you need to write positive and interesting comments plus you need to ask questions and make your blog fun. One day when Rm 3 were meant to be blogging the blog website wasn't working so we had to do something else, and Mrs. Scott decided to let us play a game.

Room 4 are really getting into their nursery rhyme animations. This day was spent experiencing clay animating for the first time. The buzz could be heard all around the school! Since then the animators have created detailed storyboards of their nursery rhymes and will spend next week designing and creating sets. Lookout Humpty Dumpty - Your story is about to be told from a whole new perspective!
