Rainbow Springs. Yesterday we went to Rainbow Springs. The Moa is extinct because Maoris ate them because they had lots of meat. Kiwis are nearly extinct because Stoats eat them. We looked at endangered animals. Lindsey talked about Kiwis and we looked at worms and beetles because it’s their food. I made one of the beetles crawl on my hand and it tickled me a lot. Riley kept on shoving worms in my face and I didn’t like it. It gave me a funny feeling. I got to hold a cracked Kiwi egg. There was a noisy bird and Pippa copied it a lot. I did it a little bit until Ben’s Dad took us to look at different animals. I liked the Tui because it had that thing under its chest. It’s a funny thing because it’s white and the other birds don’t have one because they weren’t born like that. My favourite was the Kiwi because it was cute because of the way it walks around, and I liked the brown feathers on it. I liked the lizard because of the way it camouflages itself in the tree because you can’t see him.
