Have fun problem solving your way to the fraction of the flower that you shaded. I'm excited to see what you come up with on Monday. Here's the link to the video about how to fold the flower just in case you want to watch it again.

Division Stories

Article posted February 14, 2013 at 02:44 PM GMT • comment (9) • Reads 2548

Dear 5th Grade Mathematicians,

Happy Valentine's Day! You have worked so hard on demonstrating what you've learned about partial quotients and the "traditional" method of division. I am excited to see the division story problems you have come up with, and even more excited for your classmates (and the world) to solve them!

Here's mine...good luck!
Mrs. Smith's heart beats 4,860 beats/hour. How many times does her heart beat per minute? Bonus: How many times does her heart beat in a day?

Show and explain and your work in the comment section below.

Angle Mania

Show what you know about angles. Go to the following website listed, and try out at least 3 of the games from "Johnnie's Math Page". Two of my favorites are Golf Angles and Monkey Angles! Let me know how accurate you are at determining angles.
