As part of our future learning we had to write a letter to persuade the minister that our pest was a major threat to our environment.
23 August 2009
The Honourable Tim Gosner
Minister of Conservation
Parliament Buildings
Wellington
Dear Mr Gosner
We have heard that there is some funding available for pest control. Me and my partner think the possum is the worst pest.
Firstly, they eat our national icon, the Kiwi, which is already endangered. Therefore these may become extinct if possums keep killing them.
Secondly, they eat new vegetation which damages trees. The also eat our vegetables and grees in our gardens.
Lastly, possums eat flowers and take nectar that our native birds need for breeding.
In conclusion if we don’t get rid of this pest our bio diversity in NZ is in serious trouble. Therefore we believe we should get this funding so we can educate the public about our pest and what damage it is doing to our bio diversity.
Yours faithfully
Breean Taitoko and Bridget O’Keeffe

Splash as Momo went into the deep blue sea. Bubbles came up in front of her and then they popped at the same time. She saw sparkling starfish on big rocks, curly seaweed and rainbow fish swimming around. It looked beautiful. Momo saw lots of bottlenose dolphins swimming around her. They were getting closer and closer. Momo looked down. There was sandy clam and snail shells. Momo has long straight hair with a flower hairclip. She has an octopus bottom with a peacock tail She has seal hands and a sharp beak.
Sea creatures where standing all over them. It was a terrible mess. As Momo looked down she thought she would clean it up. As she started cleaning up the mess she found a sandy clam and a swirly snail shell that was broken in half.
Below is my reflection on my writing.

Holiday recount (reworked with teacher conferencing)
It was a boiling hot day and I ran as Fast as a cheetah in to the cold Shallow water. When i was in the water I splashed everywhere. I had my life jacket on and I got to really deep with my dad. It was really Fun going deep with my dad. After that I went on the shore to have something to eat. I had watermelon and a bun with some yummy ham and some chocolate. Later i went on the playground. I went on a big wheel and i fell off and then i scraped my back. It was really really sore. I had lots of fun. Then I caught some wasqs. The Blue lake was really fun.
