Your Body Systems

These are the systems that I have found:-

Circulatory System: The circulatory system is made up of the vessels and the muscles that help and control the flow of the blood around the body.
Endocrine System:Is in charge of things in your body that happen slowly, like growing.
Immune System: Is made up of cells, proteins, tissues and organ that work together to defend your body from germs.
Lymphatic System: Makes a liquid that carries immune cells around your body. Protects against things like viruses.
Muscular System: Is made up of muscles that we use to move.
Reproductive System: Organs that work together to make babies.
Respiratory System: Allows you to breathe oxygen so we can survive. Lungs are respiratory organs.
Skeletal System: Keeps our bodies in shape and protects our vital organs. Also helps you to move.

ski day off

Article posted November 4, 2010 at 10:13 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 262

On the second day the of holiday we woke up nice and early. Blair and I went to see what the ski report was. T.C and Cadrona were terrible they were both windy and you needed chains for all vehicles to go up the mountain road. So we went off to our friends the Brown’s apartment to see what they were doing! We decided to go to the cafe down the road for breakfast and then to the movies with Annah, Sophie, Josh and Blair. By the time we had decided what to do I was as hungry as a lion that hadn’t been fed in 9 months. So we ran as fast as a cheetah to the cafe down the road for breaky.

When we got there we all looked at the menu. I decided to have a B.L.A. my favourite sandwich in the world. So everyone ordered what they wanted and waited. While we waited we played with the toys. When we got our breakfast we gobbled it up. My B.L.A. was DELICIOUS. Then off we went across the road, around the corner and through the doors of the theatre . We had already paid for popcorn and tickets and had reserved our spot. The theatre was full of couches and there was 1 car with pillows in it. It was AMAZING!!!

It was an awesome day off skiing.

The Haunted Spooky Lighthouse Story

One foggy morning, an old crinkled man and his grandchild woke up with a fright from a deep sleep. They had heard a frightening ghostly noise that sounded like a baby girl screaming. The smooth creepy noise was blowing around the house that they slept in.
A light was flickering through a little gap in the curtains. The man and his grandchild were terrified because they thought the nearby red and white wooden lighthouse was haunted, so they went to investigate.
They slowly opened the brightly colored curtains and saw that it was just a terrible rainstorm and wind blowing on a humungous tree that was outside the window.
When they realized what it was, they sat down and had a frothy, delicious, hot milo and laughed their heads off.

Maui

Article posted September 17, 2010 at 12:19 AM GMT0 • comment • Reads 137

Long ago there was a trickster called Maui one night he wondered where fire came from. Later that night he poured water over all of the terrific, flaming fires and went back to bed. In the morning everyone woke up with a shock because the fire keeper was yelling “who would put out the precious fire? Who would do that?!” So Maui told the deadly truth. “It was I” he said. “You must go see your grandmother Mahuika” Maui’s mother said furiously “and you must ask for a fire finger. Don’t play any tricks on her”. So off Maui went over a mountain, through a cave into the dark underground where his grandmother lived. Maui could see tha flickering fire fingers in the distance. “That must be my grandmother” though Maui. He sprinted to her and said “all the fires in our village have gone out so can I have a fire finger?” So she gave it to Maui. When he was going home he saw the reflection in the water, he started waving it around and he slipped on the mossy rock. The fire sizzled out. Maui wandered back again. He kept on dropping the fire in the stream, the last time he went back it was her last fire finger. Mahuika was furious she threw the last fire finger at Maui. He ran and ran, and chanted a karakia and turned into a bird then called another karakia to get a lot of rain. Mahuika was dying because of the rain so she threw the last seeds into the tree. Then Maui turned into a fish and swam away. When Maui got back to the village people were furious. “Where is the fire finger?” they shouted. Maui said “Mahuika threw the last fire fingers into some trees, and these are the trees so from now on we can rub the sticks together and make fire”.

Soup!

Article posted August 8, 2009 at 10:43 AM GMT0 • comment • Reads 400

On Tuesday afternoon, Neil was sitting at a table at Lewishams waiting for his pumpkin soup. It's his favourite and he hadn't had it in ages. He was feeling excited and happy because it is his daughter Aprils birthday.
The kitchen was right behind Neil and Todd, the waiter came out. Todd was balancing a bowl of hot soup on the palm of his hand and one of his shoe laces were coming undone. Todd was walking very carefully towards Neils table and he was four steps away from the table when he felt a wobble. On the next step he stood on his shoe lace and tripped straight forward with the hot bowl of pumpkin soup. It went on Neils head. It was horrible! The pumpkin soup went down his Tshirt like yellow slime. The waiter was very very sorry. He ran as fast as he could and wiped him all over.
Neil was laughing as hard as he could all the way home.

Athletics Day

Yesterday was Athletics day. Year 4 and Year 3 participated in athletics. My favourite events were the relay and the 100 meter sprint. For the relay I was number 5. When I was waiting I felt scared. Danielle gave the baton to me and I ran like lightning and gave the baton to Sophie. Sharne was the last runner. He had to go through the finish line. We came second. It was awesome!
