New Zealand is a small, island country in the South Pacific Ocean.
Our largest volcano in NZ is Lake Taupo. Waikato River is the longest river is the longest river in NZ. Mount Cock is the tallest mountain in NZ because it is 3746 meters tall.
Dairy farming is most popular in NZ. A lot of people in NZ farm sheep and sell them for their wool and meat. In NZ there are a lot of crops like kiwi fruit, apple, grape and walnut crops. A lot of tourists come to NZ to look at all of the beautiful sights.
One of the main sports in New Zealand is rugby. A lot of little kids are also learning how to play rugby so they can turn out to be one of the All Blacks and compete against other countries. Soccer is also one of the main sports too because a lot of people learn it at all ages. Netball is a sport where you have a ball and two teams with eight people.
In New Zealand we have got no native mammals except for bats. Most of our native birds do not fly because a long time ago there were not any enemies to get them.
Our population is four million people in New Zealand. Most of the 4 million people live in cities. But the fullest city is Auckland because it is the largest city in New Zealand. The capital city of New Zealand is Wellington.
Although New Zealand is a small country it has a lot of different varieties with its plants, birds, landscape and people.

Once upon a time there lived a lady. She only had enough money so that she could rent a house for three years. She had to only eat a little bit because otherwise she wouldn’t be able to buy anything to live on. Her name was Lucy and she was 25.
The three years passed and she left.
She had enough money so she went and bought a gun. She went in the bush and in a clearing she saw some deer. She shot one for her dinner. She skinned the dear and she sat on the skin for a mat. She found some sticks, made a hut and went to sleep.
In the morning she woke up and went for a walk. She came to a clearing and she found a house. She ran back, got her stuff and went into the house. At one side there were two nicely made beds. There was a little kitchen with a sink and a stove. There was a cupboard. She opened it and it had some cutlery in it. She went outside. She had a good look around but she did not like the colour of the house. So she painted it pink, brown and yellow. She made a nice path up to the door. She went out hunting that night and shot some deer. She skinned them and she sold them and she lived happily ever after.

I am working on my own and I am making the head. It was hard to paint the head because it is a big area so Kate helped me paint it blue. It was fun sticking the scales on.The triky part was to stik the skayills on.

The Livewires live in New Zealand. Our district is very peaceful because it is quiet. Ten Livewires live in town and 14 live on farms.
There are lots of dairy farms that make milk and the tankers come and get the milk. The milk that the cows make gets turned into cheese and butter. They take the cheese, butter and milk to the supermarket and sell it.
There are two main towns near us called Te Awamutu and Kihikihi. There are about 10 000 people in the towns.
Some small mountains such as Pirongia, Kakepuku and Maungatautari are extinct volcanoes. Maungatautari is a special mountain. It has a 50 km fence around to stop the predators like rats, dogs and stoats.

A kiwi is a flightless bird that lives in New Zealand. Kiwis lay the largest eggs compared to their body size.Their egg is 6 times bigger than a hens egg. A kiwi is the size of a hen but has a big egg.The kiwis the only bird that has nostrils at the end of its beak. Thats why it's unique. They are nocturnal that means that they come out at night.

My favourite board game is Monopoly because when someone lands on your property they have to pay you the amount that it costs. But when you land on someone elses property you have to pay them the amount of money it costs.

I am Sam the Koala. I got burnt in a fire in the bush. Trees got burnt down and all my food is gone. This man came along with a bottle of water. They gave me enough water that I might survive. I was covered in bandages. Soon I will be back in the same place I am used to. I will make heaps and heaps and heaps of friends.
