 Maui and the Sun
Maui and the Sun When Maui got up at 9:00am he tried to do did everything he had to do in the morning as the sun would go down at 9:30am. The sun raced a cross the sky as if it were a cheetah being chased. “ That darn sun goes too FAST!! He makes the night too long and the days too short.” Maui said. He called to his brothers to come out of the dark. “ We have to find a way, to slow down the sun .” It was quiet for a few seconds , then they decided to make flax ropes to slow down the sun for a long LONG time!! They made flax ropes, then they crept to where the sun rose. The sun was asleep and it woke and then the sun started to rise. The brothers jumped at the sun and Maui jumped and at the suns nose and whacked it furiously on its nose. Then Maui brother's chucked the flax ropes over the sun. Maui continued whacking it on the nose until it was to beaten to MOVE!! Then Maui said, “ If you do not slow down, we will not stop hitting you!!!” “Ok I’m all most dead !”.
