WEEK 6 REPORT
Where did the other weeks vanish to? We have been really busy and have nearly completed our first reading project, and at present are reflecting on the strategies used and where to next.
Swimming has taken a lot of our time with the preparation for swimming sports and the developing of water safety skills. Thank you to all who took part on Friday evening.
CAMP- Health forms have now gone home . Thanks to those who have filled them out and returned them already. Please get the remainder in as soon as possible. Camp is coming up fast and there is a lot of paper work to it. Some children have sold over $180 in chocolates. Congratulations to those children who have made a difference to their camp fee with this amazing effort. The children have also had a gear list supplied. If it goes missing there is a copy in the Team Notices on the web site.
We have started on an art unit involving animals from legends and children have the option of working in pastel, paint or both. These are developing really well.
Until next time . Whaea Margaret

Swimming is going really well. A big thanks to Alison who has been helping with supervision. It is much appreciated.

We have had a fantastic first week getting to know one another. We have a community tree on the back wall and each group is completing part of the tree showing their uniqueness and what makes them special as individuals and as a group.
We have done some art work with our names and they are all in disguise. It is a challenge for parents to come in and see if they can "find " their students name.
NOTICES have gone home regarding camp, orchestra, a welcome from the Kahikatea team with general information and a notice re selling chocolate to help towards camp. We have asked for an indication of interested parents and if their child is attending. A firm commitment is needed by the end of the month with the deposit. Please don't hesitate to come in and ask us questions . We would love to see all students on camp as it is an amazing and beneficial experience for them. Whaea Margaret

It's official. For this year Room 3 will be known as Fiery 3.
We had a wonderful first day getting to know each other and the class.
We have begun a group task for our back wall, started " disguised " names, been swimming and generally had a fantastic day.
Don't forget water bottles and togs every day.
