Blog C: What student created question(s) would you liked to have spent more time discussing and why?
A question I wanted to spend more time on was why she had a better connection with the kids in Greece than in America. I thought the kids in Greece live in a simpler way of life. They learn to appreciate more things because they have less. Like the way the liked Jodee from the start. They did not see what the kids in America saw. They saw a pretty girl who was smart and cool and was the center of their fun for most of the trip.

What student created question did your group agree upon, and justify?
Our group agreed on the question why would Jodee not want to transfer to another school again? We agreed Jodee does not like to keep running from her problems even though that was what she had done in the past. She really wants to tough it out. She doesn’t want to show the kids that they have beaten her down. We all agreed that she was tired of running from her problems.
What student created question did your group disagree upon, and justify?
Our group disagreed on the question do you think Jodee should go to gym? Some of us thought that she should not go to gym because she could be caught and her secret found out. Others thought that she should go to gym to show them they can’t harm her any more. I can see both ways. She wants to stick up for herself but that might cost her in the long run.

What student created question in your group generated the most discussion, and justify?
The topic of discussion was why does Jodee like to live in the past? One student said that Jodee lives in the past because that is where she was cool liked by most of her friends. Another student said that the past is the only place where she was safe from bullies. I think she feels like the past was the only place where she will be accepted. The future scares her she might not be able to handle the way she is being treated for much longer.

Voting is important because or founding fathers wanted us to be able to choose who we want to lead our nation. Without our voting the U.S. would never have the people’s leader. When we vote we are telling the world that we choose who the people want to represent our nation the person who will do well and get the job done right.
Knowing our rights is a very important thing. They tell us what we are allowed to do that can never be taken away from us. Without our rights people could be jailed for printing the news paper or for believing in God. I am glad that we can live in this country where you have the same rights as the rich or famous, every person is treated the same.
Voicing your opinion is important because it helps the government to learn how to change the system. They are there to represent you. If you don’t tell them what you think could be changed then the have no idea what the people want.

I probably would have done nothing. Just go along until it got bad. No where near that far
She could have left the party early when it was not as bad. She could have just let it happen and be left out purposely.
No Jodee did the right thing leaving. The students are the ones who earned their own punishment by doing the things they did.
My parents would make me go to confession a lot and I would be grounded for a year or two. It would not be good for me at all I basically be dead.
No the kids should get over it they are the ones who got caught doing the bad things. They should have never of even done the things they did. They are just finding her to blame so they stay cool.

Our small group discussion was good we all wanted to know if she would do good at her new school. If she would fit in again. What could happen to make all the kids dislike her again? We just wanted to get to reading again.
· Most of my group decided that Jodee would have a good time at her new school and that it would grow worse and worse as the year went on.
· I would like to discuss more about why the kids would be nice and friendly again only to shun her once more.
· Most of my group thought that she would instantly have a bad experience at the new school but I thought that she would be popular again only to become the outcast again.

“It was either shun or be shunned. The meaner you where to the “rejects” the more popular you became with the members of your clique.”
· It is saying that if you don’t be mean to the misfits then you became one. If you stayed with your friends you had to be mean to them if you wanted to keep popular.
· I agree with the quote if you are mean to the outcast in your school you usually don’t become one unless you are one already. Now just because I agree with the quote does not mean that it should be this way but it would hard for few people to change what has been happening since society started. It is the way it is.
· There was this new kid who was well popular at his old school but because he was new the boys decided that he had to earn there respect. So the made fun of him until he became better than them. He still gets picked on a little by some because of a thing he might or might not pass in or at.

You should feel nervous about failing but not succeeding. You need to good in school to get to go to a good collage. If people do not like you because you are good at something they are not good at it is not your fault.
If the kids think she is a good student because her parent is a teacher then they are wrong. It is harder for her to do good because teachers might expect it of her. And maybe she likes the feeling of doing well. They should not make her want to fail just to fit in with other kids.

You don’t always have to fit in with the popular crowd. You can find your own friends to hang out with. People who like the things you like who do like to hang out with you. But you could try if you wanted to fit in with try some sports just don’t let them make you wish you weren’t alive.
When Jim moved from his old school where he knew every kid, where he was one of the popular kids. He was fast, he was cool, and he was the one who was the one to hang out with. But on day he moved to a new school they seemed friendly at first, but later on they began to be mean to him. They were mean because he was just a little smaller than one kid only a centimeter but because of that he was criticized. Every day they tore him down he tried to make up reasons why they did this like they where jealous, but it did not stop for two years then he was taller than the one kid and the could no longer make fun of him because of his size.
Some time kids make fun of you because you look funny or dress funny, sometimes because you do weird things, but around here it is because of your size tall or small, big or skinny. But really its because they have a problem and the need you to take it out on.
