Blog C: Which student created questions would you like to have spent more time discussed and why?
One question we did not spend a lot of time was the gum in Jodees hair. We did not really talk about it was that we could not believe that the nurse did not say anything. We know that Jodee told her not but, but the nurse is an adult and she could have said something. Another question we did not spend a lot of time was about how they guy Tom did not want to share his diary because he was talking about he had to stay at the college with a bunch of “weirdos”. He felt guilty because he was one of the people that made fun of the outsiders and all the kids there were the kind of people that he made fun of.

Blog B: What student created questions did your group agreed upon and justify.
Our group agreed on the question about why Jodee’s dad wanted to become closer to Jodee and her mom. Out group agreed that Jodee was going through a hard time and needed someone close to her, someone that she could release her problems out on and someone that she could tell everything. In the beginning of the book Jodee was scared to tell her parent because they did not believer her and did not understand her, now that they understand they need both of them to help her through this hard time. Two is always better than one. Another topic we agreed on was about why Jodee was second guessing about going to Annie’s House. We agreed on that it was a good thing Jodee went because she found a new friends but she was second guessing herself because she did not know if she could trust her because in the past Jodee was invited to someone’s house but it was for a prank. She did not want that to happen again, but she made up her mind that she could trust Annie and that Annie was not going to do her wrong.
What student created questions did your group disagree upon and justify?
Our group disagreed on was it a good thing Jodee went back to the gym? One student said that she should not have went back because she knew that something was going to happen if she did, she should have saw it coming. Some of the people in my group said that is was a good thing she went because she should take a chance and maybe she will succeed. It is always better to take chances then to just sit there wondering. Who knows Jodee’s problem might not have been even noticeable

Blog A: What student created question in your group generated the most discussion and justify.
One topic of discussion was why Jodee felt so comfortable showing her body to Niko. One student said when she was around him he made her feel at home and like she was part of them family. Around him Jodee did not feel like an outsider she feels like she is part of him. Another student said they would have felt very nervous but they understand why it did not really bother her. Niko did not want a sexual relationship like what most guys would want he was just a true friend that did not see a problem. Most guys would notice it right away and they would make fun of her but not Niko, he may have noticed the problem but he did not spot it out.
Another topic of discussion was why Jodee did not feel out of place when she went on the collage trip. One student said because when she was there everyone was her type, at their school those kids were also outsiders and they also got picked on by the school bullies. The kids there understood her because they knew what she was going through. Another student said basically the same thing but they said that she could release the hurt that she had on the inside because with them they had the same problems so they could work together to figure out the problems.

Responsibilities Blog A

Blog A- Responsibilities
The first responsibility I am writing about is voting. Voting is important to our country because people have to vote in order for there to be a president. If you do not vote then you do not have a say in what you want. You also vote for many other things than the president, like maybe the mayor of your town or you might have the choice to vote on games to play at recess. So if you want your say in things you have to vote.
Voice your opinion is the second topic I am talking about. If you want to let people know what your idea is on the topic you need to tell them. You need to let out your opinion on the topic and tell them what you think. You need to discuss your views on the topic that you are opinionating about whether it is the weather or maybe political views.
Respecting the rights of others, in order to respect others you need to be kind to them. Other people have right just like you do so “Treat them how you would like to be treated” otherwise known as the golden rule. So what that is do to others as you would like to be treated. If you would like to be treated like others you need to respect them.

Blog Response Chapter 4
If I was at Calli’s party or a party of that nature I would have been scared. I would have wanted to call my parents to in fact I would call my parents. I would have gone home and try not to tell any adults what went on at the party.
If Jodee would have just gone down stairs and told her mom that she was not feeling good. If she would not have told her mom what was going on upstairs and what everyone was doing then they would not have found out. Also if she would not of told her mom her mom would not make her tell Calli’s mom and nobody would have got in trouble, but I do agree it was a good thing for her to tell her mom what they were doing upstairs.
I do not think Jodee should have been blamed for the punishments the other kids received. She did not mean to tell on them and she did not want to tell on them she just wanted out of the problem. She should not be blamed just because the other kids were doing something that they should not have been doing they were only in sixth grade. I think that the other kids should get over there selves and realize that, that was in the past and that it is not all Jodee’s fault.
I think that I would have got into a lot of trouble with my parents. Especially because I would have only been in sixth grade. I probably would get all of my privileges taken away and I would be grounded for what seems like forever, but even though that happened to me I do not think I would have acted like that to Jodee. Even though I would be in SO much trouble I would realize that Jodee did not feel comfortable.
No, I do not feel the treatment Jodee is receiving is fair. She is getting beat up, talked about, her stuff getting ruined, and just plain out being bullied all because of one thing that happened. Calli and all of the other kids involved in this need to realize that yes they did get in trouble but they did but also that what they did and are doing is wrong. Jodee did one thing wrong and now her whole life is being ruined.

In our group discussion we discussed a lot of things. It really surprised me on how hard it was to answer some of the question like one of the questions was “If you were in Jodee’s position and you were the one being bullied what do you think you would do”, at first I thought maybe tell an adult but then I was like well I would probably be too scared to do that. So in the end I decided that I would probably keep it to myself unless it got really serious.
One thing that created a heavy debate in out group was “Do you think Jodee will be happy even though she is being transferred”? My group thought that she would be happy because she is getting away from all the bullies. Then we thought about it and we were like maybe she won’t like it because she might be scared of being bullied again. We thought about that one for a while and in the end we decided that she would be better off being transferred.
One topic I would like to talk more about is about Jodee and why did the other kids think it was wrong for her to hang out with the little deaf girl. We did not really discuss that one a lot we just decided that it was because the little girl had special needs. I wanted to know why the older kids did not like her, why they thought she was weird, and why the kids would not give her and try and be like Jodee. The little girl did not want to be like that she never got to choose.

“It was either shun or be shunned. The meaner you were to the “rejects” the more popular you became with the members of your clique”
What this quote means to me is that if you want to fit in that you have to be caught with the right people. If you were found with the “rejects” then you will be a “reject”. Another thing is that if you are not caught bullying the rejects then you are not one of the “popular” kids in your clique. I do not think that this quote if fair to everyone, because there is not an actual “popular” person. What I am saying is like in Courtney’s eyes Jennifer is popular and in Dana’s eyes Nikki is popular; everyone is different in other people’s eyes. everyone is different in other people’s eyes. So I disagree with this quote.
One thing that I have saw happen before was my cousin was hanging out with her friend Angela. Angela was not really a cool person she did not fit in because her parents did not have that much money, when my cousin was caught hanging out with her they all made fun of her. So my cousin had to make up an excuse of why she was hanging out with her and started making fun of Angela. Angela and my cousin were really good friends so my cousin just decided that she would rather hang out with Angela than hang out with the “cool” kids. So in the end the “cool” kids decided that it did not really matter that she hung out with Angela so now my cousin is friends with Angela and the “cool” kids.

I did not get to go swimming as much as I would like to of. I also went to West Morlens by Manhatten and we went camping, there was a crick that we played in that was clear and you could see all the rocks at the bottom. One of the things that I did not get to do and we were suppose to of was go to California with my family but we never had the chance to but I am looking forward to this summer because we are going for sure!

"A person should experience a nervous reaction if she is worried about failing, not because she's scared of suceeding."
When i read this quote it reminded me of when Jodee did not know if she should fail the speech just because she did not want to be labled smart, she wanted to be labled "cool." Somebody should not have to fail there favorite class just so that they can have friends, they should have friends not matter what they are good at. The quote applies to "April is a good student of the social teacher, she is a good student, excels in sports and is a hard worker." I think that maybe it means that if the "cool kids" in Aprils school think that sports are for weird people that April is going to quite even thought she is good at it. Or maybe she is going to start failing her classes to fit in or be a bad student to fit in. She should not have to do that just to fit in.

“If you’r good at something the popular crowd deems “uncool”, you are sunk.”
When I read the quote above the thing that first comes to my mind is when Jodee wanted so hard to fit in that she was going to fail speech class. When I read that it made me feel so sad you should not have to do that just to have friends, that is not how someone should be treated. My friend Jane was really smart and wanted to be in knowledge bowl but the “cool kids” labled it as a nerdy thing. So she ended up not even going out for it. Nobody should have to do that who cares that someone wants to be in knowledge bowl it is their choice not someone elses, and how would they know it was nerdy they never even went out for it.
The areas of life that this quote comes out is like when someone is good at something but what they are good at is labled stupid or dumb and that person wants to fit in so badly but, so they do not go out for it. Just because they want to fit in, that is not right. Or it might even be like when somebody gets older they want to be a teacher or something and the “cool kids” think that, that job is for weird people and nerdy people. Who cared they are not going to be the ones doing that bob.
