Which student created questions(s) would you like to have spent more time discussing and why?

A question I would have liked to have spent more time on was, why do yout think Jodee won’t let her mom help deal with her problems? The reason is because, Jodee will not let her mom help her with her problems. Therefore, things are only going to get worse, and Jodee needs help from her mother. Jodee’s mother loves her and just wants to help her because she does not want her to get hurt. Also, if Jodee tattles every single time, people will hurt her more and seek for more revenge.

What student created questions did your group agree upon?

We agreed on why she went to camp, because she went for a school thing and everyone there had problems just like her. We also agreed on how we would’ve reacted if someone put gum in our hair because, a teacher cut it off and if we were Jodee we would’ve went to barber shop and have them fix it. Another topic we agreed on was, that she was being treated better with Annie. We thought that was because Annie used to be like Jodee, an outcast, and Annie knows how it feels and thinks it isn’t fair. We also areed that how she was being treated wasn’t right. Our group disagreed on why she should get sugery. Some thought she should so she doesn’t have to live with the deformity and some said she shouldn't go so far just to be like everyone else. We disagreed on not letting her mom help her deal with her problems. Some said Jodee wants to deal with her problems herself and not run away from them. Others said she should because she’s to young to deal with these horrible problems herself. Another topic we disagreed on was, should she transfer schools? One said, she should because it doesen’t matter what others think of her. I thought she should not because in the long run, running away will get her nowhere.

Vote- I think voting is important because, if you do not like the other canidate running for president you can make his chance of becoming president less.

Support Your Family- I think supporting your family is important because everyone needs clothes, food, and shelter.

Voice Your Opinion- I think voiceing your opinion is important because everyone needs to speak up for what they believe in.

Chapter 4 Blog Response

Article posted October 26, 2009 at 08:34 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 422

If I was at a party of this nature, I would have done the same thing that Jodee did, which was calling my mom and ask her to pick me up.

If Jodee wouldn't have called her mom and just played along with her classmates it would have changed the outcome and people would most likely still like her.

Jodee should not be blamed for the punishments the students received from their parents because Jodee did the right thing. I think it's unfair and stupid that Jodee should be hated because of the actions her classmates have made.

If I was one of the students at this party and was punished, I would feel angry but I would get over it. If I did that I would just have to accept the consequences of my actions.

I do not think the treatment Jodee is receiving from her classmates is fair because, no one who did the right thing should be hated, teased, harassed, or bullied.

Chapter 3 Blog Response #2

I agreed with a lot of answers in my group but, a topic that created a lot of heavy debate was, If you were in Jodee's spot and had to choose between doing the right thing or tepeeing and egging a elderly woman's house with Greg and Jo Ellen.

A question that really made me think was, If I was in Jodee's place and my best friend told me that I couldn't be friends with Marianne anymore, how would you react?

A question I really wanted to discuss more about was, When Jodee told on Jo Ellen and Greg for making fun of the handicapped kids, how do you think she felt?

Overall, my group was really good. They came up with great questions and answered them well.

Chapter 3 Blog Response # 1

Article posted October 12, 2009 at 08:13 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 474

"It was either shun or be shunned. The meaner you were to the "rejects" the more popular you became with the members of your clique."

I think this quote means, if you are nice to the unpopular then you become unpopular. If you are mean to the unpopular then, people will think you are cool and whoever you hang out with will want to be closer to you.

I agree with this quote because, if you are nice to someone who people think are weird then, people will think you are weird too. Most people think that putting someone down makes you cool. Most people do it because, it makes them feel better about themselves. I think it's wrong and unfair because, putting someone down for your personal insecurities will only make your insecurities worse.

At my church bible study, I am the leader of my group and there was a new girl who looked gothic and very mean. My group was too nervous to approach her so, I talked to her openly and she was very sweet and caring. A girl in my group told me that I should stay away from her so that I wouldn't get hurt. So I kind of kept my distance and the new member of my group thought I hated her. So I felt really guilty and apologized to her and asked if she would forgive me, and she did. So then, we became really close friends, and the girl that told me to stay away from her told my group that I said they were all horrible christians. They believed her and now my group wouldn't speak to me. I talked to my pastor and he talked to my group and the girl who started this problem now is in a different group on a different night.

I agree with that quote because some peopledo bad on purpose so they won't be maken fun of. This quote applies to the scenario, because April doesn't want to be made fun of just because her mom is the teacher and she's good at schoolwork, sports, and works hard.

I think this quote is true, because most popular people make fun of people who do "unique" things just because they're different. I think it's not right because everyone is different and good at different things. A real life situation would be that my cousin doesn't fit in at school but, she is really good at sports, and schoolwork. Everyone makes fun of her and she only has two friends. My cousin is very nice and doesn't deserve to be ridiculed and criticized just because she's good at things that others aren't. Areas of life where this would apply would be like, if you were a car salesman and your best friend is a movie director.

Rate My Summer♥

I'd rate my summer as a 7. It wasn't the best summer I've had but it still was fun and I got to do a few fun things. I'd rate it as a 7 because I got to go to Branson and see christian rock bands at Worlds Of Fun. My favorite part of this summer was going to the Hollywood Wax Muesum with my dad in Branson. It had a lot of interesting famous movie stars like Forrest Gump, Spiderman, The Wizard of Oz, Austin Powers, Charlie's Angels, and Lord of the Rings. I also enjoyed spending a day on the lake with my family and riding on an inflatble tube attached to the boat. I also loved having my cousin Tylee, who I haven't seen in six months, spend the night with me. Overall I had a pretty good summer and can't wait for the next!

A New Beginning!

Article posted January 12, 2009 at 08:17 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 161

What I liked most about 2008 was being able to see my brother after he went to a military base to be in the navy. What I did not like about 2008 is that I got in trouble a lot mouthing off to my two older sisters. What I'd like to accomplish is keeping my grades up and getting all of my work handed in.

What I'd like to see is Obama start the year off good and that he'll be a good president. I also hope that he will end the war and bring the men and woman training in the military home.
