Article posted March 22, 2010 at 08:38 PM GMT0 • comment • Reads 227

ENG III GATSBY BLOG ENTRY.

Dear All,

Here is your Blog Assignment. You are to choose 2 characters from THE GREAT GATSBY. While these people seemed to have money and fun-filled lives, many of the characters are lonely. If only they had match.com! Based on your reading of the novel I want you to write a dating profile for your chosen characters In order to achieve a passing grade, you need to include AT LEAST (feel free to add others) the following categories:

Name:
Age:
Height:
Occupation:
What he/she looks for in a partner:
Hobbies:
How he/she likes to spend his weekends:
Likes:
Dislikes:
Best thing about him/her:
Any annoying habits:

In order to achieve a high grade, you need to ensure you add depth and illustrate knowledge of the novel.
Be creative and even clever, but ensure that this is based on research. You may wish to add extra appropriate information. Remember, you need to do 2 separate profiles.

If you have any questions, just email me.

Good luck.

INTRO TO FILM BLOG # 1: THE UNTOUCHABLES . Due in class Feb 11

INTRO TO FILM

POST-SCREENING QUESTIONS: THE UNTOUCHABLES

Please answer the following questions as truthfully and honestly as possible. They should reflect deep thought and analysis. Each answer should be AT LEAST 5 sentences. Each question is worth 5 points:

1. I know that it is a gruesome subject but many people find Sean Connery’s death a little bit over-the-top; others feel he deserved the Oscar that he won that year. In your opinion, what are the top 3 memorable death scenes in movies? Is it Boromir in LOTR, or Commidus in GLADIATOR, or even Hans Gruber in DIE HARD. Identify your top 3 and give a little detail as why these are your top 3.

2. I am personally not a fan of the “Irish” accent that Sean Connery has in this film (the words WORST ACCENT… EVER! come to mind!) What in your opinion are some of the worst accent performances in movies that you have witnessed?

3. Create a discussion question for THE UNTOUCHABLES., one that will inspire wonderful posts.

4. Go to one of your classmate’s blog pages and COMMENT on their question (this option is at the bottom of their blog page). If you are the first person, be patient!!
