Fist Fight

So much depends upon

A rough fist fight

Next to a smelly dump

In a huge rich man’s hotel.

Soccer Field

So much depends upon

A huge soccer field

A mile away from home

Waiting for me to come.

Smelly dump

So much depends upon

A smelly dump

Lying next to a hotel

Eating garbage every day.

Late Bus

So much depends upon

A late school bus

Filled with students

Ready to deliver them to school late.

Math Book

So much depends upon

A heavy math book

Filled with math problems

Ready for students to solve them.

Recess

5C is always last to go down from recess, because there is a teacher that sends the fifth grade class by alphabetical order but I don’t think that’s a good idea even if the other classes are talking and playing.  And we are only having 10 minutes of snack. The other classes are going to snack alone and we have to go down with the teacher and we have to stop every meter for 2 minutes even if we are not talking. I think the teacher should send us by which class is quietest.

Facts About the Cardiovascular System

Article posted December 14, 2010 at 07:02 AM GMT0 • comment • Reads 947

·         There are 4 chambers in the heart.

·         The chambers are called right and left atriums, and right and left ventricle.

·         The biggest artery is the aorta.

·         There are two sides in the heart the right side and the left sides.

·         Arteries carry oxygenated blood.

·         Capillaries connect veins and arteries.

·         Veins carry deoxygenated blood.

·         If you eat a lot of junk food a layer of fat will cover your heart.

·         If you eat a lot of junk food your arteries will clog.

·         The left side of your heart has oxygenated blood.

·         The right side of your heart has deoxygenated blood.

·         The left atrium receives oxygenated blood from the lungs.

·         The left atrium contracts sending the blood to the left ventricle.

·         The left ventricle contracts sending the blood to the aorta and all over the body.

·         You can put a machine in your body that will help your heart pump blood.

·         There are 3 types of blood vessels.

·         The names of the blood vessel are arteries, veins, and capillaries.

·         The good cholesterol is called HDL.

·         The bad cholesterol is called LDL.

·         The cardiovascular system has three names.

Facts we learned from the Dietician

·         Sugar free gum is bad for you.

·         Fish has antioxidants.

·         Antioxidants raise you’re HDL level.

·         Sugar is barley recommended in the food premed.

Facts we learned from the cardiologist

·         Your heart is the size of your fist.

·         You can’t replace your heart with a machine.

·         You can’t replace a kid’s heart with an adult’s heart.

·         If you eat a lot of cholesterol your arties will clog.

Our Visitors

Our Visitors

On Thursday two visitors come to our class Miss Jeanette Karam and Dr.Antoine Abchee. Miss. Jeanette Karam is a dietitian and Dr.Antoine Abchee is a cardiologist. I learned that fish have antioxidants and that antioxidants help stop your arteries from clogging. I learned that eating a lemon is better than drinking orange juice because when you squeeze the orange a lot of the vitamin C gets lost. When you exercise your HDL level becomes high and it removes the fat from the arteries and takes them to your liver and kidneys. And I learned that a child can replace his heart with a grownup

I Made a Mistake

Article posted October 15, 2010 at 07:59 AM GMT0 • comment • Reads 923

I Made a Mistake

I went to the supermarket to buy some cheese,

I made a mistake… and got some fleas.

I went to Spain to buy a plane,

I made a mistake…and met Elian.

I went to the farm to see a ruffed grouse,

I made a mistake…and got eaten by a mouse.

I went to the zoo to see a bear,

I made a mistake…and saw a hare.
