An Unassisted Expository Text; planned, written and typed in one Writers Workshop (80 minutes) by RB
Some are good at it but some stink. Such as G…. and M…… Well the topic can help so much that you might not believe! Do you know what lm talking about? Listening skills!
Step 1# Importance
Listening skills help a lot the teacher (or whoever) and you. Why? Because you don’t have to repeat yourself or whoever is talking. While you’re at school its helfull in getting better grades as well as passing tests.
This makes you a better person because good people good people don’t just go around interrupting whenever. They wait untill the speaker stops talking. Plus, Don’t you think its anoying when someone interrupts you? Its rude, very rude. I, personally don’t even consider it nice.
Step 2# What helps
Facing whoever is talking helps you stay on task rather than facing a friend. Also if your friend is talking, just ignore him untill you may talk. When its your turn to talk and you say it all. Suddenly you remember something to add but your turn passed. Then just wait untill its your turn again.
When you arrive home, something that helps is to start a CONVERSATION not an argument. Then every time its your turn to talk, say it. If you miss something just say it on your next turn. That over time helps.
Step 3# Usefullness
Listening skills are very usefull especially during school because it will help you in not staying in for recess. Do you think its actually worth it? Well if you do, then just think again because it’s a really easy thing to do. Give it a try, you might as well agree with me!

Do you think dissecting the heart might be gross? Well your wrong. A couple of days ago, we started with a unit of the circulatory system with the heart blood and blood vessels. We were in class when a teacher, Mrs. Salem came with a bag. And right now was the end of this unit so it wasn’t a surprise for the heart to be there. There was recess right now so we had to wait until the dissection.

An Assisted personal Narrative by
Ever been in a fight? You might know what it feels like. But you still might not know especially if you’ve haven’t been in a fight, but really don’t try to do it to have fun.
It was early when I woke up, because my friend, Daniel was coming over. It was way too early, so I tried to sleep, but I couldn’t. At the end I just stared at the ceiling, waiting.
After a while, my mom called for breakfast.
“Finally!” I said to myself. I got ready for the day and as soon as I finished, I ran to the kitchen. I looked what there was and “Waffles!” I said as the smell attacked me, along with the sight of the waffles. I rushed to my seat. “Where’s dad?” I asked .She replied,”work” where in the world does he keep going, I thought to myself. Then I thought about where my sister was but I decided that she’s also in work and so just finished eating.
I finished eating in what seemed like 10 minutes and I went to my room. My phone starts shaking like crazy every hour and 45 minutes so it meant now was 9:45. 10:00 came! As it turned out he called later to say that he was delayed for about 15 minutes.
At 10:14 the door bell went DING! DONG! .I scrambled to the door, bumped on a table, smacked on a wall, tripped on a chair and fell. I finally got to the door and opened it. “Hello” my mom said from the kitchen “Hey” he said to my mom and me. “Hi” I responded, “How are you?” he shrugged and said “fine”
“What do you wanna do?” I finally said. Finally he answered “em TV or something,”
“Yeah sure,” I said, and we went to my room. I turned on the TV and asked “what do you want to watch?” I asked.
“Leave it where it is.” he responded.
In the TV there was a Star Wars movie. He sat on a chair of mine and me so did I. After few minutes of watching I asked “You want some popcorn?” He shrugged and said “Sure,” I went to the kitchen until I reached my mom. “Yes?” my mom asked. “Can we have some popcorn please?” She opened a cupboard and said “Ok,” then I went back to my room. My friend was nowhere to be seen .Out of nowhere a soft bouncy ball hit me in the head and went BOINK .Then he came out from behind my bed threw another bouncy ball at my head but this time I grabbed it and threw it at him. It bounced on the wall then hit him.”The popcorn is done!” My mom said. So I went to the kitchen and my mom handed me a bowl filled with popcorn. I took the bowl to my room. “so you still want to watch TV?”
“Yeah,” he answered “I’m going to the bathroom,” and he left the room. He later returned. We ate the popcorn and out of nowhere the popcorn came flying at me. It hit me in the face. He started laughing but then I threw my popcorn at him and one hit him in the eye. “OW!” he groaned and threw more at me. At some point popcorn was flying everywhere, hitting me EVERYWHERE.I threw some at his hair and it bounced everywhere. He threw some more and more at me. I ran everywhere struggling to dodge until I got a bed sheet for cover. He threw more but this time I blocked more. He seemed to have tried to get a shield as well, but I ran to the bowl and threw some popcorn at his eyes but it hit him in the stomach. He picked up some of the popcorn and threw it at me . Some of them hit me in the forehead I said. “What’s going on?” My mom asked. My mom was going to my room now and we both got pale and stared at each other with our eyes red with point. We only managed to hide some of the popcorn until my mom came.
“What just happened?” asked my mom as she got to my room. “We accidentally dropped the popcorn”
“Every where in the room?” My mom asked starring at the floor. “Yup,” I responded.
“OK but clean up the mess,” She said. “Ok,” we said together .We spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning up my room and then we played Xbox.
It was a good day except for the popcorn fight. After a while he left.
So remember to never make fight like that because even if they’re games you could get hurt badly specially in the eyes.

I Am From Poem

I am from
I am from the grass drying up, from the tilted trees easy to climb, and from the bushes poking at my skin with spikes. I am from cacti sticking out of the patches of land, taking the land up like a plate covered in food, from my mom saying “I don’t care about what other parents say,” and hot chocolate on a winter morning. I am from cloudy skies and never being any snow, from the big rocks sticking out of the street, from the ant nests with millions of ants coming in and out with work to do.
I am from mountains as far away as the world, blocking the sun and the lake, I am from the frogs in ponds, and big fat hairy spiders in webs, eating a trapped fly. I am from the mountains as close as possible, many with snow in winter season, taking over making shadows to the floor.
Where are you from?

Volcanoes, the Dangerous Landform
They are a dangerous but amazing sight. Magma flowing in and out with a bright color. Mountains? No, these landforms unleash their magma violently but when not, they are calmer than the ocean. Volcanoes. Why do they erupt, how are they formed, that’s some of the things that make them fascinating, what make them truly unpredictable.
FORMING
Volcanoes are landforms with rather similar forming to mountains, with tectonic plates; The gigantic chunks of crust that move constantly but over time by convection currents; the hottest places in the mantle which was first suggested by Alfred Wegener, a geology scientist. The plates were formed more than 900 million years ago after the earth being at blazing temperatures, cooling down. That made the Earth’s crust shrink and crack. Which is what made what we now call the plates. For a volcano to be formed there would have to be 2 types of plates; An Oceanic Plate and a Continental plate; An Oceanic plate is a plate that’s thin (9-15 miles) and most of the plate is underwater while Continental Plates are thick (20-50 miles) and hardly anything underwater. The Oceanic Plate, because it is thinner, would have to go under the Continental Plate and bits of the Oceanic Plate would make huge mounds. The mounds would start looking into a mountain-like landform. The Oceanic Plate would later reach the mantle and melt. Even later small vents would form that lead to the surface to the peak and around of the mountain-like landform, making it a volcano. This process takes thousands of years. Volcanoes can go extinct in a few hundred centuries. While they’re active, they can be dangerous.
Some volcanoes need and oceanic plate and a continental plate, but some have a different forming; by a hole around the middle of an oceanic plate. That holes is formed by an even hotter area in the mantle. (This area is called a hotspot) This makes a hole. From that hole would come magma cooling down quickly, (because this happens underwater) Making it turn solid, but more magma would come out making it gradually a mount that keeps growing. But the oceanic plate is moving, so at some point the volcano will stop growing and a volcano next to it will start growing. And will happen the same thing over again until the plate moves from the hot spot.
LOCATIONS OF THEM
Volcanoes are found around the borders of continental plates and oceanic plate (where they collide) and even in the middle of an oceanic plate. Most volcanoes that are known are on land but many are under water (most are on land because they are easier to find).
Volcanoes are landforms with a crater where the peak should be. . That is where boiling magma comes out. When a volcano erupts the magma that goes out is then called lava. Sometimes when a volcano erupts it could basically remodel the top half of the volcano.
MOST FAMOUS VOLCANO
Mount Vesuvius is one of the most famous volcanoes, killing 2000 people in 79 AD, wrecking 3 cities.
What would happen in the future? I think that the volcanoes we now have will stay active, dormant, or extinct. And new ones will come to life. Constantly as well as some going extinct at the same time.
