T- What kind of constitution did the United States create?

Dear Diary,

   Today everyone was talking about the constitution. There used to be the Articles of Confederation. That didn’t go so swell. It really stunk. There was also a new government the constitutional convention made. There was the checks and balances. The checks and balances were for when one branch of government doesn’t use it’s powers for the right things, then the other two branches can stop it. Each branch has powers and weaknesses. There is also the federal system. The states and the Central Government share powers. An example for checks and balances is, the congress can pass a law, but the president can put a veto, which means to not approve. The supreme court also can stop a law passed by congress if it does not follow the constitution. I’m really glad they got rid of that stupid Articles of Confederation.
