Japan Reflection

On Monday morning I went to school and the only thing I heard was about Japan’s 9.0 earth quake. That was followed by a tsunami that was 10 meters tall. When the tsunami hits it washed away a whole town. Around 10,000 people are between missing and dead. And another threat hitting Japan is the explosion of the nuclear plant. The earth moved 10 centimeters as a result of the earth quake. Just imagine that you are going to school and never coming back lots of building were falling down and lots of bridges are breaking.
I felt really bad for them and I hardly slept that night I could imagine women screaming for their kids everywhere that night and I am so thankful that is not happening in Lebanon.

So much depends upon
Recycling and
Reducing the amount of paper
Which will eventually save trees
Environment.
So much depends upon
A blank page
With no poems
On it
To light up our
Day.
So much depends upon
Breathtaking experience
Of elementary that
Will unfortunately
Fly away next year

Presidential Qualities

To be a president, it means you have a huge responsibility on your shoulders. If you are not up to it, then you are in the wrong spot.
I think a president should be respectful, honest, trustworthy, and definitely organized.
The president should permit his people to have full freedom of expression. If people do not vote for him he should not imprison them or even kill them. The president should be fair and treat everybody equally. He should be very kind and in his spare time he should go out and mix with the citizens in order to understand their problems better. He should work hard in order to make his country a better place. If a president has all of these qualities then I think he is a the perfect leader for my country and everyone else’s country.

Grade 3A students would like to share the information that was provided by the New York Zoos and Aquarium website about their “wild self” animal characteristics. Each child designed his/her wild self and has taken that name as their Class Blogmeister user name. Welcome to the world of blogging!

Thomson's gazelle horns - Your Thomson's gazelle horns can grow to be one foot long. Male Thompson's gazelles use their ridged horns to defend their territory.
California sea lion ears - Unlike true seal ears, your California sea lion ears are outside your head. You can use these ears to hear above and below the water.
Indian rhinoceros horn - Your Indian rhino horn is made of keratin, the same material as your fingernails. Unfortunately, rhinos are endangered because people poach them for their horns.
Gibbon arms - Your Gibbon arms are designed especially for swinging in trees. With these arms you can jump distances of over 20 feet from branch to branch.
Orb Spider Legs - Your spider legs are master weavers. They can help you spin strong webs of golden-colored silk. Some of your webs can get as big as six feet across, or more.
Rodrigues bat wings - Your Rodrigues bat wings are very different from bird wings. Bird wings are made like human arm bones. But your bat wings are more like really long fingers. Creepy long fingers!
Spiny Tailed Iguana Tail - During the day your lizard lounge is a tree branch. But at night you can retreat into a hole in the tree bark and use your spiny tail to block the entrance. That's one serious home security system!
