It was the first day of Eid. I was very excited and the moment I was waiting for had finally arrived when mom asked me what I wanted as a gift.

I was extremely thrilled so I quickly replied, “I’ve always wanted a parrot mom, can I get one please?”She hesitantly answered, “you know what, let’s go to the pet shop and see if they have any.”

One hour later, my mom and I were on our way to the pet shop and while I impatiently and excitedly waited in the car to get there I couldn’t stop shaking in the back seat of the car .When we got there I looked around the shop and saw an extremely cute cat and shouted-out, “Mom, come look at this cute kitten.”My mom nervously replied,”Zouheir, don’t you know about my phobia of cats and dogs, let’s just stick to buying a parrot.””Fine mom, relax, we’re not going to buy it ,”I replied. So we went and saw the parrots. There were many parrots so we asked one of the staff, “Excuse me, can you tell us how much these parrots cost?”He politely replied, “they all have the same price which is seven hundred dollars.” My mom and I looked at each other and shook our heads. Suddenly, I saw this beautiful bird directly in front of me, it was a yellowish-orange canary, and so I asked my mom, “Mom, can we get that canary?” She asked the staff member how much it costs and he told us that it was forty dollars. We decided to purchase the canary.

We went to the cashier and payed for it. Then we went to the car to go home. When we got there I looked at the bird and said, “Welcome to your new home.”
