Joe Flood's Visit This week Joe Flood came to talk to us about the causes and effects of alcohol and drugs. He really knew what he was talking about because he is an ex-drug addict and an alcoholic. He told us about mistakes he’s made that changed life because of drugs and alcohol. We learned how marijuana messes with the brain and how alcohol and turn the brain off, leading to death. These facts were very interesting and will help later in life. One thing he said was that the early you get introduced to drugs or alcohol, the better chance of getting addicted.
My first impression of Joe was that he was an old man that would tell us his life story and say not to do drugs. But he did so much more. He told us all about the brain, and he didn’t say not to do drugs or alcohol, he just said all the consciences they have. That is better because he doesn’t manipulate us, he just says examples and effects these things have.
I hope this helps my decisions later in life and the way I act. This could definitely change anyone’s idea about drugs or alcohol. I’m so glad Joe Flood came in to talk to us. It was a great experience.
