Rye road kill rain or shine

When is there more road kill rain or shine? This is the question that I have been studying to find the answer to. When it is raining out and you are driving it can be hard to see at times so if you are going at a fast rate and an animal is in the road or crossing the road you might not stop in time or you just don’t see it. When it is sunny out and a good day lots of people go fast in a hurry so if an animal is crossing or in the road you might not stop in time.So I studied the days that it has rained over the months of March, April, May for Rye New Hampshire the years of 2008 and 2009. The amount of animals that died from March to May in 2008 was 25. 19 animals died on sunny days and 6 on Rainey. In 2009 there were also 25 animals that died in the months of March to May. It seems like there would be more road kill on rainy days and not the sunny ones. People are not following the speed limits and carelessly drive and that is affecting our animal’s population if people start to do the right thing then we could decrease the number of road kill. I thought that there would be more road kill on a rainy day because it is hard to see and animals sometimes run across the roads to look for shelter. My thought for next year’s amount of road kill would be that the number might increase because people don’t think about the animals as much as themselves if everyone starts to do the speed limit and follow the rules of the road the number should decrease. Some road kill is not controllable but a lot of it is so be safe and slow down.

This blog displays the amount of road kill in rye new hampshire in a seven week spand. There are many different animals in the graph the squirrel was the animal that was killed the most it had a number of twenty three, this graph is very good to keep track of the numbers of animals killed a year or even a month.

In math we have been doing a project on the stock markets we pick 3 stocks and we invest in them.We were given 10,000 dollars we went online and found our own stocks. I invested in Oshkosh, Wal-mart, and IBM .I Chose to invest in Oshkosh because they sell cars and the way the economy is going people don’t really have money so people are not really buying things but people will always need cars so they keep investing in oshkosh.I invested in Wal-Mart because it is a good store that sells lots of things that people need so they always seem to be making lots of business’ invested in IBM because it is a business that holds lots of files so they always seem to be making money and not that much of a loss.
The thing that I would have changed would be investing in Wal-Mart because even though it is a very good company they are In debt so it is not a good company to be investing in right now. I might have invested less in Wal-Mart because they are a good company just not right now because of the economy. I would invest in companies that people don’t really know about because they are the companies that seem to be making money because they don’t have to ask the banks because they don’t make huge profits every day. Right now I would try and invest in lots of companies that are going up like IBM I had never heard of the company before until I saw it online and saw it was going up so I researched it and made a very good profit.
If I had to give some one advice on stocks I would say that you should be very careful with the stocks you invest in because you may think that they are going up but that can change . During your research , search for companies that don’t make too much money but have a good profit margin then research it again and make sure they are doing good, but be careful because any thing can happen in the economy.I would also say that you should not invest too much money because you never know when the stocks will decline. If you don’t invest that much money in then you won’t lose as much money. Try and stay away from the big car industries and the banks because those places are not doing very well right now and they owe lots of money to the banks so if you invest in them you will probably lose so be careful and chose wisley because any thing can happen in the stock market.

Over the past weekend starting Thursday night there was a very big storm that knocked over lots of trees and broke lots of power wires witch made lots of people lose power. There were huge power outages all over Maine and New Hampshire There were not many serious injuries from the storm but cars and some homes were destroyed huge trees crushed cars and homes people today are still out of power. Most of Rye is back on but lots of York and Kittery are still out. The power should be on in most places and the roads should be cleared up things are starting to get back to normal.

This graph is showing the rate of how long a person diving in Antarctica can hold there breath and how long the animals can hold there breaths. It also tells how far down they dive in the water. The animals are more likely to stay under water longer because they can hold there breath longer than humans can.The humans have to dive in the water with oxygen tanks so they can stay under the water for longer amounts of time.

we had a guest speaker named Joe Flood. He told us all about his life and about his past experience with drugs and alcohol. He told us about the mistakes he had made. I think it was a very helpful class. Joe Flood was a previous drug and alcohol user. He taught us about the dangers of drugs and alcohol he taught us how to protect you from these things. He taught us what to do when you are in a tuff situation when drugs or alcohol are being used. I think it was easier to talk to someone who has had a previous experience. It made more since because Joe really knew what he was talking about. Joe told us to picture our brains with six lights you are healthy and awake, when five our light you are ok ,when four are light you are asleep, when three are light you have passed out, when two are light you should get medical help, when one light is light you are dying, when all your lights go out you die. This strategy Joe used to talk to us really made us feel like we were in the situations ourselves. Joe was a very inspiring person to me and really made me understand all the dangers of drugs and alcohol. I am looking forward to seeing Joe Flood again next year.

I have been researching MRS. Ellwood and she is very interesting she and the other scientist have been setting up a tent for them and the bot. They had to put up lots of different pieces to connect the huge tent they have been calling it ribs because when the outside was set up it looked like ribs. The scientists have all been working very hard and are doing a very good job. They have been collecting data and keeping track of all the important things keep up the good work. I would like to get the chance to ask MRS. Ellwood if they all are able to stay warm at night. It seems like it could get very cold. There are many things we wood all like to ask MRS. Ellwood she is just such a fascinating person to be researching she gets to do all sorts of cool fun things.
