Inner Planets Mercury’s temperatures really surprised me. I thought since it was so close to the sun it would always be extremely hot there, I was wrong though. The coldest temperature is -170 degrease celcius. That is one temperature challenged planet. I also learned that Venus is named after the goddess of beauty. I think that’s kind of a bad name because Venus is a toxic inhabitable planet and is not beautiful at all unless you consider deadly gasses and lightning beautiful. One thing that I was really surprised about Mars is that it has an atmosphere. People always talk about how there could be life but after learning about Mars more I fully understood that there was a great chance to life there. If there was some kind of creature that could live off Mars’ atmosphere and had water it would be perfect for them. The inner planets are very intresting and there is still a lot we don't know about our planetary neighbors.
