Supersize my Knowledge

This year's health class has expanded my knowledge beyond my wildest dream. I have enhanced my thoughts on nutritional information and physical fitness levels. I was taught how to calculate my pulse and how muscles work.

Perhaps my favorite part of this year was watching the famed documentary Supersize Me. It was amazing to see what fatty, high cholesterol foods and lack of excercise can do to a man who had a perfect BMI. The thing I liked about the movie the most was the thoguht that obesity and smoking are the leading causes of death in America, but smokers get criticized for smoking because it's bad but obese Americans almost never get critized for eating. A thing I liked was how Morgan Spurlock went to different schools and saw how children got 1-2 hours of physical education a week. Those same children were then consuming a high intake of calories in their school's lunch program. A thing I thought was very professional that Morgan Spurlock did was he went to a nutritionist, a dietician, and a trainer.

I feel I have been affected in a way by this particular documentary than I have anywhere else. This movie showed me that I should check nutrition labels and excerise more often. To enhance my physical activity I should run and lift and get a more balanced work out. A person should manage his or her health by doing the following things just mentioned and eating a well balanced diet full of fruits and vegetables and fresh water. This documentary, I feel, has been a positive and negative influence on we Americans.
