Today is the day lots of Principals and Vice Principals from other Essex County schools visit our very own Benson Library! I know you will do a fantastic job of showing what you know about blogging, making podcast commercials and talking about our Silver Birch Book Circles! You are one of an amazing bunch!

Our Podcasts are almost ready! I have been so busy...BUT I promise that our next library class will have all of our commercials up and ready to listen to.
For now, have a great week of EQAO testing for the Gr. 6's with the support and understanding of our Gr. 5 friends.
Take care, Mrs. M.

Today we begin writing our scripts for our Book Talk Commercials! Remember, adding bits of music can add detail and make your commercial sound more professional. You might want to check out the music at Podcast Audio (see link to the left). I can't wait to hear what you come up with. If you want to listen to commercials from last year click on the 2007 Podcast link. Be creative!

Hope everyone had a fantastic March Break! Are you ready to get back to reading your group selections? Some of you are ready to start planning your book trailer commerical podcast. This week our classes will be hosting Principals from 23 different GECDSB schools during a special library period on Wednesday afternoon! They have heard about the great things you are doing in library and would like to see all of you in action! Can't wait to share our books and blogs!

Hi,
By the end of this week please make sure you have the following completed on your personal blog:
1. Select Background
2. Use the "Control Panel" to Title your blog and write a short bio about yourself.
3. Use "Articles" to post an answer to the question: How is your book group working together so far, and what are some good rules to follow to have successful group work? Tell a bit about the book you are reading as well.
~ If all of the above are complete, well done! Read a classmates post and make a comment on their blog.
Keep Reading Bobcats! Mrs. M.

Hi,
This week our Gr. 5 TECH EXPERTS will show the members of their groups how find, select a background and post a message to their very own blog.
Next week I will be back to work with the other groups on their first blog entry.
Meanwhile, I hope you are enjoying your Silver Birch books and having some good book buzz about them.
Check out this little video I put together for our Silver Birch selections. Would you like to learn how to make a video like this? Post a comment telling me what you think.
Have a great day!:-)

By now you have had a chance to meet with your group and begin your book club. I hope you are enjoying your Silver Birch Selection.
Log into your own blog and write about how your group worked together during your first meeting. Outline a few "rules" that will help all groups to get the most out of their book club groups.
:-) Mrs. M.
