You can enter the text of your blog hereThere have been many of these cases are the Oka crisis, Ipperwash crisis and Caledonia crisis disputes between the First Nations Aboriginals and the Canadian government. The majority of these disputes were land disputes. The Canadian government taking the Aboriginals land without consulting them. This is unfair because the Canadian government was taking the Aboriginals belongings for causes. Three examples of these land disputers are the Oka, Ipperwash and Caledonia crisis.
The Ipperwash crisis was based on a land dispute between the Natives and Canadian government in Ontario 1995. It took place at Ipperwash Provincial Park on Labour Day, September 4th, 1995. There were around 35 protestors who drove their parks in the park. The violence started when a Native smashed a police cruiser window. The police tried to have a peaceful resolution, but it failed. In then end, I person died. A protestor named Dudley George. On December 20th, 2007, the government decided to give them their land back.
The Caledonia crisis was when First Nations Aborirginals took over a construction site in 2006. They took the residents hostage because they were tired of being abused.they all had rifles and negiotated with the Mcguinty government. There was no information on this crisis, so its ahrd to continue.
The Oka crisis was a land dispute between the Mohawk and townspeople of Oka, Quebec. It lasted 78 days, from July 11th, 1990 to September 4, 1990. There was going to be a golf course extension built on the Mohawk land and the Mohawk decided to protest. The crisis went as far as the army coming in to settle the Mohawk down. This crisis soon became very violent. 3 people were killed in the end. Many natives came from all over the country to help the Mohawks keep their land. In the end, the Mohawks surrendered and many were arrested. The golf course was cancelled.
All 3 crises are similar because they are about First Nation Aboriginals protesting against the Canadian government. The Oka crisis did last the longest and result in the most deaths. It’s also good that all crises ended with the Aboriginals getting their land back.
