Room 6 third graders are working hard to become better writers, readers, mathematicians... Actually, we are trying to become better thinkers! We live in the middle of California in and around a very small town. We would love to connect with fellow bloggers from around the world!

A new school year has begun! New students, new curriculum, and renewed energy and focus. Room 6 is ready to learn.
Here is a fun way to practice your spelling words; type them (one at a time) into dotty-dots, and then run the cursor over them to see what happens... It's fun!

Our students did an awesome job on their diorama projects. They made these at home and brought them to school for their planet presentations. I am very proud of you, room 6!!

Here are some pictures from our Christmas Program. The students wore their finest clothes and Miss Pauls directed them in singing wonderful Christmas songs. They have worked very hard to memorize all of the music and speaking parts. Third graders, you did a wonderful job!

Today we had a visit from a California dairy cow! She is seven years old and her name is Milky Way. Here are some things we learned about Milky Way and other cows:
• She has one stomach with four sections.
• She will live for about ten years.
• She has 32 teeth.
• She has no front teeth on the top.
• She has an ear tag (like getting your ear pierced!)
• When cows are two years old they have their first baby.
• Cows chew their food two times. The second time is called chewing their cud.
• A cow can not make milk until after she has had a baby.

Congratulations to Evan from room 6! He won third place in the poster contest about our school carnival. This is quite an accomplishment for a third grader, because he was competing against students through 8th grade. Go, Evan!!
