My Dancing

Just before the hoilidays I sat my dancing exams. I did jazz and tap. We had to have our hair in french plaits. It really hurt when we had it done. I also had to sit a medal test. I've got 3 medals in tap and 4 in jazz. Altogether I have 7 medals. When I got my tap results I got "High Honours" which is second from the top. For jazz I got "Honours."

Farmer Giles crept up over the hill and spotted the treacherous and ferocious Chrysophalyx. Famer Giles peered at the dragon. His head was like an extremely large alligator. His nostrils were enormous with vapour like the steam of a train floating up out of them. His breath was furious and fierce. The dragon was very cunning, rich and well-armoured. His scales were of a pure green colour. His teeth were pearly white. His eyes were big and bold. His feet were so big they could fit a small house. His claws were long and sharp.

I love animals. I have got two cats, one called Ernie and another called Phoebe. Phoebe is a funny cat. She likes to lick me on the face. One day when she was a kitten she fell in the bath with the water in it. I had to dry her for ages! She loves to catch flies and she loves cicadas, but her most favourite thing of all is birds. I save them all the time, but sometimes some of them die.
Ernie is very old. He is about 14 years old. On the 14th of June he had to go to the vets. He had to go to the hospital. He's not very well. On that night he had a caesar and he can't walk on his hind legs. Phoebe is missing him dearly. At night she likes to wake me up and wants to play all the time. She doesn't even want to sit in her favourite spot! I hope Ernie gets better.

My Teacher

My teacher's name is Ms Gibbs.She is a very nice teacher. She uses the virtues of service, kindness, joyfulnss, patience and excellence. Most of the times we get to go out for games. I think the games are really cool fun for everyone. She has lately been doing camp things for us, as as we will going to camp 4 - 8 April. She has been getting all the really fun stuff ready for us.

The Virtues

At Our Lady of Lourdes we are doing the virtues programe. We started it last year in 2004. Some of the virtues are hard but most of them we already know. The lady who started the virtues project came to our school. Her name is Linda Popov and she's from Canada. We all gathered in the school hall. She talked about what they were about and we listened to a song. She came around all the classrooms and talked to the teachers and the children. Every week we pick a virtue and every week we try to use it in every day life. We have a "Cool to be Kind" box wich is when we use a virtue, we get a piece of card which acknowledges us and then we put it in the box. Every Monday we have a draw and then 3 people get chosen. They go to our principal and get a voucher for a free pizza. For more information on the virtues go to www.virtuesproject.com.
