Tomorrow is Integration Day.  The theme in physical fitness so you will be active all morning!  It is a good idea to bring a water bottle and wear clothes that you can move comfortably in, as well as gym shoes.  We will be discussing your goals through the Circle of Courage.

It should be great day. 

We also have an assembly at 1:00 p.m.

Due to the poor attitude and poor sportsmanship in phys. ed. class, we will no longer be going outside.  This means that all students will need indoor  runners for phys. ed.  I hope that in the coming weeks all students can show that they are mature grade 5 and 6 students by respecting each other and themselves by playing fairly.

We are nearly completed our first month of the 2009-2010 school year.  I have been working very hard this past week and a half to learn about Smart Board technology.  It is really fun and I would like to use it more and more but like any other new technology, it is taking some time.   I  have tried to make several things only to find they do not work when I get to school first thing in the morning. 

Tomorrow I will try an interactive map of Canada that I made!  I ghope it works as planned.

Many school activities are under way, such as choir, cheerleading and sports teams.  This year, several students from our room have offered to help the Kindergarten class.  Their time is greatly appreciated.

I have stopped putting homework on our blog as our class has been wonderful about writing in their agendas.   Keep up the great work !

Our class is studying poetry and will be writing a collection of poetry.  Each poem needs to be illustrated.  The final copy is due October 14.

Hey Grade 5 and 6,

We have officially completed one week of school!  I am really pleased that everyone is blogging daily.  We have schedule in the classroom to help share the computers.  We can blog when we have the laptops as well.  This is a great way to communicate with each other as well your parents.  Check here for important dates, assignments and homework.  BUT  it is still your responsibility to write in your agenda each day!

I hope that everyone had a great first week!  Enjoy the Labour day weekend!

The first  week of school is under our belt and I think we are off to a great start!  Our class is big this year but luckily, full of wonderful kids.  I am looking forward to all of the great things we will learn and do!

Book orders are due September 11.

Grade 6 Immunization notes need to be returned ASAP.

Second day of school and everybody is having fun!

I will continue to approve blogs over the summer.  At the end of August I will "orphan" your blogs to be picked up by your teacher next year.  Your blog will stay the same, you will not lose any of your writing.  However this is technology and we have had issues before. 

If you are blogging next year, your username and password will stay the same.  Your blogs will still be approved by your teacher.  You will be able to access your log from your teachers blog page as usual.
