This is a poem written by one of my students, V.V. This poem is called Good Morning. Please feel free to leave V.V. a kind note or a comment on our page. :) Nice job V.V.!! -Mrs. Hanifin
Good Morning
Good Morning,
Good Morning,
Good Morning to you,
Hello to the sun,
Goodbye to the moon.
Good Morning to Queen Bee,
Who stretches her wings,
Good Morning to Bluebird,
As she chirps and sings.
Good Morning to tulips,
Good Morning to you,
Good Morning to spiders,
And Ladybugs, too.
Good Morning,
Good Morning,
Good Morning to you,
Hello to the sun,
Goodbye to the moon!
Good Morning to Pine Trees,
Those green pointy plants,
Good Morning to Daisy’s,
Good Morning to ants!
Good Morning to Grey Squirrel,
He flicks his fat tail,
Good Morning to dolphins,
To fish,
And to whales.
Good Morning,
Good Morning,
Hello, rise and shine!
Welcome to daytime,
Where no one does wine!
Good Morning,
Good Morning,
Good Morning to you,
Hello to the sun,
Goodbye to the moon!

ALIEN INVASION!
Calling all parents and family members!!! We have aliens that have invaded the second floor of Palmer Elementary from Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto! They have even come from the sun and moon!!
We would love to have you come and witness this, but most importantly, we would enjoy having you come in to see all the hard work and creativity that has come from Mrs. Hanifin’s and Mrs. Nolan’s students.
Please join us on Tuesday, April 13th in the cafeteria between 2:15-2:50pm. Following this exciting event, parents may take home their child’s alien for a safe landing. If you know in advance that you would like to sign your child out of school that day, please send in a quick note, send an email, or give me a call at school so that I can have your child prepared with their belongings in the cafeteria. J
Thank you for assisting your child in creating their aliens. They should take great pride in what they have completed. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, April 13th!!

Every since we had our visiting poet and author visit our classroom (Rachel Guido deVries), we have been so excited to share our poems with everyone on our class blog! This week, our class has used VoiceThread to record our voices reading two poems, and KidPix to illustrate our poems. This project has been posted on each child's blog page. I hope you will find time to visit our class blog pages and comment on them.
GREAT JOB BOYS AND GIRLS!!!

This Friday, March 12th, we will have our Poetry Celebration!
Rachel Guido deVries has been working with us this week to learn more about poetry. She has really helped the children to feel comfortable and confident, and it has only been two days so far! Come join us as your child or family member shares their poetry. Our celebration will begin at 1:35pm and will last for approximately 45 minutes to an hour. We hope to see you there!
Best WIshes,
Mrs. Hanifin

Can you believe it's already March and St. Patrick's Day is almost here? Please remember that it is still cold outside and we need to wear coats, boots, gloves, and hats to keep warm.
Beginning next Monday, March 8th, and continuing through the week, we will have a special visiting poet visit our classroom. Her name is Rachel Guido deVries. She will come to teach us more about writing poetry. We have such wonderful writer's in our classroom, I can't wait to see the poetry you all produce! Next Friday we will have a celebration in our classroom where all parents and family members are welcome and encouraged to come see their loved one read a special poem they have written. I will be sending home a letter with more information soon.
Best Wishes to All,
Mrs. Hanifin

Hi, it's Mrs. Hanifin again! I hope you all had a wonderful vacation full of love, happiness, and relaxation! Now it's time to make some New Year's Resolutions! Did you make a resolution? What is your resolution? Why did you choose this resolution? I look forward to hearing your responses. :) HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
At this point in the year we have many birthday's coming up. I just wanted to remind everyone that all food must be store bought and not home made. This is to ensure that students do not get ill. Thank you so much for assisting us with this!
