White Rhino
White Rhinos are related to horses and tapirs. Their family name is Rhinocerotidae. Their scientific name is Ceratotherium Simum.
Characteristics
White Rhinos straight and wide, it can be 20cm wide. They have 2 horns and the front horn is bigger than the rear horn. Did you know White Rhinos have the heaviest head in the world? Wow that must be heavy. The muscles in the neck support the head. The hair under the skin is not obvious yet the skin is very strange. White Rhinos don’t have front teeth.
Problems for the White Rhinos
Humans are threatening the White Rhino, they are getting their horns. Also hyenas and lions are attacking the calves. The worst one of them all is climate change because less rain they can’t eat and waterholes dry up and it causes droughts.
Behaviour
White Rhinos love to play in mud; mud also keeps the flies away. Calves like to stay next to their mums. White Rhinos put their tail up their back to say he is sad, they also make 10 different calls like roars and grunts. Another thing rhinos do is they leave a path in the ground to tell other bull rhinos where they go.
Habitat
In zoos White Rhinos habitat gets cleaned every night. White Rhinos habitat in the zoo has dirt and tree stumps. But in the wild it’s a little different they have a bigger space. They have mud puddles, short grass for eating and wallowing in. White Rhinos also live in the grasslands of Africa and forests of Asia. Rhinos live all over the world but they are mostly found in Kenya and Zimbabwe. The use to be found in Mongolia.
Food
White Rhinos are herbivores which mean they don’t eat meat; they eat plants, grass, leaves, bushes and trees. Rhinos eat one to two percent of their weight each day. They also have to reach for their food. They eat early morning and night when it’s cool.
Please help the White Rhinos and all different Rhinos as well. There used to be 60 000 in the world, now there are only 1200.

happy
is a jumpy cat
slowly, sneaking towards the big tree
he lives in the garage roof
he is trying to catch a big fat bird for his supper
Love that dog,
like a cheatah loves to run
I said I love that dog
like a cheatah loves to run
Love to call him in the morning
love to call him
“Hey there, dog!”
Where are my glasses
The film is about to start
wild I will be if I can't find them
things always go missing when you want them
are they in my drawer?
I am a chimpanzee
black as a tyre
I climb all day
I fight with other chimps
I can squeel when I want something
I can do a front flip
I am a chimpanzee

My skeleton plot writing sample.
An old brown school hall is up for sale yet No one knows that the school hall has some friendly staff that you can not see.. like a butler and servants. The friendly ghosts can’t leave the brown, brick hall they try and escape in lots of different ways but its no use.
It is very important the ghosts say that they get to choose who lives in ‘their’ home or else they will get mad!!! A lot of people come to look at the hornted school hall on a Sunday afternoon. First a family of 5 come, but the ghosts don’t like the look of the family so they do some intimidating things like say mean and heart full things about their children the family runs of inside they feel calm but on the outside their terrified. Next a head master of lynmore school comes to have a look at the hall and the ghosts frighten him of in a complete different way by moving things round.
Finally a young couple visits the brown, (fear-full) hall. The ghosts try and hornt the couple but they are not creped at all. Eventually they make friends with the ghosts. The couple buy the home and live happily in their new home. But do you think they will stay that way…..

A long time ago, I heard a story which happened 20 years before in 1887. I was out walking when I became lost in the dark, gloomy night and it started to snow heavily. I started to panic I knew I couldn’t last the howl night in the dark, dusky open. So I made my way to the light and it was a old wooden cottage. Brian was the man who owned the old wooden cottage and gave me shelter, drinks and food that smelt like meat cooking on the b-b-q.
He was very strange, he told me a spooky story that had happened that very night 3 years earlier. The story was about 6 men that had died because the horses had slipped in the snow storm and the mail coach had toppled over a long misty cliff. The weather was a bit better so I set off in the shadowy darkish night again, but just before I set off Brain said to me you did the right decision by going now because you would meet tonight’s mail coach if you walked past the cliff which would be 1 hour to walk. Brain also mentioned that they would probably give me a ride.
Terrified, petrified, horrified I set off quickly in the blurry, dusky night. I lost track of time it became darker. The mail coach was coming behind me I could hear the big wooden wheels squeaking and the horses galloping, they stopped right beside me and when I looked at them I got a big fright. They looked scruffy with their scarves around their neck. I asked them if they could give me a lift and the two men nodded. I climbed in although it was dark I could see 4 men inside. I tried to make a funny conversation but none of them would talk they were all silent. It was like they knew what was going to happen. I realised that something was going to happen and I tried to get out but I was going through the air…. I heard screaming from the men and suddenly everything went black.
I woke three days later in my bed, I had been found in a snow storm exactly where the mail coach had crashed three years ago. I was confused and my head was sore.
Nothing was found there again…..

A family of five were going on a trip in the countryside outside Wellington. Excited, amazed and delighted they drove round the windy roads to the brick, brown cottage with four bedrooms, a big game room, a kitchen and a living room. In the farmers field next to the rented brick brown cottage there was a wicked old scarecrow with eyes like an owl. The Vos family thinks the wicked old scarecrow looks evil. The oldest child has to sleep downstairs with the wicked old scarecrow looking straight at him because his mum and dad wanted the master bedroom upstairs away from the scarecrow and his two young brothers wanted the other bedroom. The Vos family have dinner then they go to sleep after the long trip to the cottage. “Bip, Bip,” they wake up the next morning and get ready for their first day at the cottage. Everyone goes out except the oldest child because he wants to explore the rented brick cottage. The oldest child Sam went into the kitchen to get himself a drink when the phone rings, he answers it and hears steady breathing, they hang up. Frightened, terrified, petrified Sam starts to think someone is watching him. He goes back into the kitchen and looks out the dirty, old window and the wicked, strange scarecrow was gone….nowhere to be seen.
Terrified, horrified, petrified Sam turns on the TV, but it’s crackly and Joe can hardly see the picture so that didn’t work. There is a knock on the brown, dark door. “Bang, Bong, Bang.” Sam hops up and looks out of the window and there’s no-one there. Sam tries desperately to ring his mums mobile but he hears a ring in his mum and dad’s bedroom and there standing in the bedroom was the wicked, old scarecrow. The phone rings again and Sam runs to get it and all he can hear is hysterical laughing…..

My Chuck Close Art

Chuck Close's Model

Chuck Close
In 1988 a spinal blood clot left Chuck Close almost completely paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair. A brush-holding device strapped to his wrist and forum, however, allowed him to continue working.
He lost his parents when he was 11. He is 57 years old right now so he is still alive. At the age of 4 he knew he wanted to be an artist and his father gave him an easel for his 5th birthday. He also likes to paint normally.

My research is a chimpanzee and I made a book.
There are two chimpanzee pictures. In side there is classification, habitat ,behaviour, description and conclusion. I made my progict out of paper.
I did 10/10 on my notes. On my opening paragraph I did 10/10. I did 10/10 on my report body. On My closing paragraph I did 10/10.I did 8/10 on my quality of information. I did 6/10 on my surface features.
I would check if I made my quality of information good and I would speak louder.

I went on a jungle trip yesterday and it was fun. In the jungle there were lizards, snakes, toads, squirrels, lions, tigers, bears and of course monkeys. Those silly monkeys were playing with their tails and swinging clockwise and counter clockwise above my head. Eye got very dizzy from watching them swing. I fell down and went to sleep I rested right in the middle of the monkeys play area so they sure had fun with me when I was sleeping they tied my shoes together and twisted my long hair into funny shapes that looked like there tails. Win I woke up and tried to stand up all the animals in the jungle laughed when I tripped and fell down. I thought it was pretty funny two so we all laughed out loud. Were all really good friends know whenever you go to the jungle you better where jangles and get an haircut first.

Tuesday 3 February
Dear Mrs Hyde,
I live in a cul de sac. My house
is a two bedroom house. I live in
a brick house.
My dad’s name is Martin and my mum’s
name is Angela. I have some pets. I have
one dog which is called Sweep and my cat’s
name is Tinker.
My favourite food is pie, pizza, hotdogs, sausages
and sausage rolls. I like going for mountain bike rides,
taking my dog for a walk and I like running as well.
What I am looking forward to is maths and meeting new
friends.
From Maisie.
We wrote these letters as a writing sample at the start of the year. Mrs Hyde made only enough changes to make this readable. The original will be in my big book.

One cold wet Autumn morning as I was walking to school I smelt the Autumn tree. The trees had leaves. They were orange, red and brown. I also saw different kinds of
coloured leaves falling to the green bumpy ground. I saw the smoke coming past my mouth I could taste the warm milo swirling down my throat from this mornings
breakfast. I touched the cold leaves. I felt glad when I got into the classroom as it was nice and warm.
